de Blob is a peculiar game if we compare it with others. The concept it tries to convey is different and at the same time daring. However, it should be noted that this is clearly a port of the original Wii game, and therefore, doesn’t present major changes, but it’s a pleasure to see it in high definition.

De Blob is a port that has been meticulously taken care of. It allows for better visuals in a platformer that, even nowadays, remains as a reference of the genre.

It may well be almost ten years old, but de Blob is still a very welcome addition to the Switch’s library. It is by no means perfect, with several camera and control issues and a slight sense of repetition dragging the game down somewhat, but it makes up for these problems with colour, creativity, and fun. From the Minion-style cutscenes to the adorable, “yays,” from rescued residents, we can see kids and big kids having a great time here.

Ten years after it's original Wii release, the colors of De Blob seems a little faded. The gameplay is repetitive and that makes the main campaign, which is long, a little bit tiring. The change of motion controls to regular controls is a welcome change, just like the possibility of playing this in a portable. The soundtrack is great and there's a good number of local multiplayer options.

While it definitely shows its age visually, De Blob’s Switch version is still a wonderful time for those that have been fans of the game or to newcomers of the quirky platformer. Its wonderful sandbox style and marvelous soundtrack will make for a good experience if you can overlook some of the presentation issues within.

On the Switch de Blob looks great, the cel shading has been polished and the image is bright and sharp both on TV and on the console screen. Too bad only for the pop up of graphic elements on the medium and long distance, always present but ultimately not really annoying. If its originality and its charm have never been questioned, repetitiveness and imprecise controls have to be considered before giving a final score. de Blob is still fun, but today's player must be ready to accept some small compromise.

All in all, It’s amazing to see such a creative and relaxing game make the jump from Wii to Switch. I would possibly make a few changes to cater to those who played the earlier version of the game, but I’m still glad to see it here painting the eShop red.

de Blob is a prime example of a game that has stood the test of time because of both its simplicity and originality. Its gameplay is timeless, its humour tickles the young and the old, and its soundtrack is both dynamic and infectious. This Switch port still doesn’t address the game’s camera or control issues, but they’re worth working through to enjoy an experience that rarely fails to put a smile on your face.

While de Blob was an ambitious title on the Wii and a unique one at the time, it definitely shows its age even with a great porting studio.

De Blob is a nice and fun platform, even ten years later: unfortunately all the faults of the past also remain.

It's been ten years, but de Blob is still a funny and colorful game. This remaster reminds us how amusing its gameplay can be. However, de Blob for Switch doesn't solve the camera problems of the original version. Besides, it was far more surprising ten years ago, when almost all the games were brown.

Unfortunately, the conversion for Nintendo Switch is not in excellent shape, diminishing the roar of the portability of the Blue Tongue opera on the Kyoto console.
