    This is the first and only game in my life which pagged in a gaming console....that damn lag,loading time and the awful combat style ruined everything!

    I get that the switch isn't the most powerful console in the world but Dauntless on the switch is such a bad looking port to it. The graphics looks dreadful and the framerate is so low it's barely playable. When I play the game on PS4 and PC I can run around and dodge the creatures and kill them and my health never drops below 50% but on the switch I was finding it kinda hard to dodgeI get that the switch isn't the most powerful console in the world but Dauntless on the switch is such a bad looking port to it.     Very slow in the town.
    There is also a bug that makes the screen fixed so that I cannot move and see anywhere else after talking to NPC.
    Apart from these, it seems to be a fun game.

    Dauntless itself is a great free monster hunter style game, but the switch port is the most unoptimised and low res version I've seen. Constant lag spikes and the resolution is so low that anything somewhat in the distance is about 1 pixel big.

    This port of Dauntless on Switch is awful with ultra low resolution and a lot of freezes.
    The game itself is not totaly bad but cant compare to Monster hunter wich is infinitely better in all aspects.
    If you are looking for an incredible hunting game buy MHGU .

    Really good game, I'm actually quite surprised at how good it is. It's a free to play game so of course it has microtransactions but I've played for hours with other players and I've been having a great time without feeling the need to spend money on anything. Now regarding the performance, it doesn't run that great in Ramsgate (the town/hub), it's playable but the resolution and the fps are low, and there is a bit of lag, but from what I've read the performance in Ramsgate on other consoles is not that good either so I guess that is to be excepted on the Switch. The hunts are surprisingly very smooth though, no lag and no other issues which is great because it's the most important aspect of the game. Also, it's worth mentioning that this game has cross-play and cross-progression across PC, PS4, Xbox One and Switch. I guess having Epic Games as their publisher made that happen. I also read that a mobile version is planned for 2020. It's really great being able to play with other players on different platforms.… Expand

    its really fun one of the first online rpg's i have really played i have it on ps4 to but use the switch version for portabel uses. There are a some times where the game lags but other than that there is really nothing wrong with the game

    Obviously a bit of a graphical downgrade, but overall the game is in-tact and contains all of the features one would expect on PC. Super fun to be able to play this on the go and have cross-platform and cross-progression.

You know what a better solution is? Sell your console. Because if this is the quality of game you want to enjoy - you're either misguided or masochistic.

    I would spend time actually going over the game mechanics, but its pretty much Monster Hunter - minus the polish and meat that makes Monster Hunter so good. Instead, you get cookie-cutter designs for characters and beasts, pay-to-upgrade BS and not much reward for investing.

    I find the Fortnite approach (while I don't play the game) of having optional "seasons" to buy into - is a much more favorable one to just generally slapping a price tag on anything unique.

    This is to Monster Hunter what Fallout 76 was to Bethesda fans - a low budget cash grab. Sucks too, as I am a big fan of the Monster Hunter formula and wouldn't have minded a low-budget replication, but this is more reminiscent of a hot, wet, steamy pile of gaming trash - cooking on a sidewalk in a **** neighborhood.

    The bad: no motion control. Perfect game for using motion control of pro controller to fine tune strikes. Laaaaaaaggggggg

    Game was simple now they jammed 50lbs of poopies in a 5lb bag The ok:Played back in open beta and the ability to still have all of my items and experience shared via my epic account is.. well... epic! It is overwhelming how much they have added to the game and the hunt pass is a solid execution lore-wise in terms of incorporating a "battle pass". Love the art style. Tons to do.     My fastest download/try/delete experience on Switch so far. Very mediocre game mimicking MH on gameplay and Fortnite on aesthetics and failing in both camps. It can be free and it's still a waste of time.

    I think this is the first piece of media i have given a 0/10, the microtransactions are so many and so aggresive it makes you ask, why don't i just buy monster hunter, is like $30 and the microtransactions in this game are 99$

    This is the only version of Dauntless I've played, and it's fine. It also shocks me that it is a 4 out of 10 game. Why would you people say this port is as horrible as the Ark Survival port?!?!?!

    The game Dauntless is good. I like the progression and the monsters. On Ps4 I have nearly no issues performance wise. On the switch it is another story. It is very choppy with noticeable lag and a huge resolution drop. This is a cross platform multiplayer game I shouldn't be handicapped by picking the switch. However, that beings said, going through islands, slaying Monsters, and collecting loot with my daughter is really great fun. I applaud Dauntless and their dedication to cross-play. Now please make the switch version just a little bit better.… Expand

    первым был Evolve - лучшая игра а играл я с ЗБТ до закрытия серверов. Знаю причину закрытия как люди сами испортили игру. Dautless ждал год минимум когда вышел то был на Английском языке . Сейчас наконец появилась локализация на Русский . 22+ лвл купил боевой пропуск. И да Dautless была второй игрой в мире после Evolve - 4 против 1 . DBD . пятница 13 и прочее хорошие игры но бой противпервым был Evolve - лучшая игра а играл я с ЗБТ до закрытия серверов. Знаю причину закрытия как люди сами испортили игру. Поэтому для меня это хорошая альтернатива .MHW не то допустим , китайщиной за километры пахнет играть в той вселенной невозможно . Здесь же очень приятно проводить время . Надеюсь вы меня услышали. Ну и что бы понять игру тут над прокачаться больше 7 лвл . Так как очень растянуто начало для детей которые не могут сбить монстра с ног. ........… Expand

    A great example of a game well done by Epic. However, they should stop trying to make a canon or plot out of it.... I just want to play the damn MH ripoff...

    First off, you’re gonna need a relatively good internet connection to play this game, if you have that, then go get Dauntless, it’s a really fun game and people are talking about micro transactions, but it’s a free to play game, what did you expect?     If you're not worried about a major story or a lot of strategy but still want to see what the monster hunting genre is like without shelling out a lot of money, Dauntless is a nice free-to-play game to ease you into things.

    Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the loop of hunting monsters and collecting their parts to craft better weapons and armor. That being said, its performance issues in the open-world hub and the inability to earn any substantial amount of platinum through regularly playing the game inhibits me from giving further praise. However, with some improvements, this game could be a sleeper hit within the library of free-to-play Nintendo Switch games.

    Phoenix Labs has built Dauntless to be the same game for all gamers. That has been their mission from the start and in that they have absolutely succeeded. The game plays great and it is a fun experience to work together and slay giant monsters, however the technological limitations of the Switch in its innovative handheld or tabletop mode feel like a hindrance to the experience, and those who may only have a Switch Lite may easily be put off from investing in this game as they won’t be able to play for long.
