Jul 18, 2025At face value, Date Everything may seem like a silly little dating game. The hilarity of the memes and social media posts regarding the game is certainly attention-grabbing, but they don’t touch on the intricacies of the title. I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that it’s so much more than that. Characters interact with each other, and some even have a bit of history. Harper and Dirk, I’m looking at you. It creates a world that feels real, as they speak of other objects, immersing you in a sort of hub world within the walls of the house. You forget the fact that you don’t touch grass, and instead, you spend all day, every day socialising with your furniture. Okay, it sounds weird when you put it like that, but despite the game taking place in one major location, it doesn’t feel limited in the slightest.

Jul 7, 2025There’s nuance to the stories with some slight serious undertones that flesh everything out and the story is even funnier when you push the characters to hate you instead. It’s a top notch presentation, but for me personally, I’d do better with a more pared down cast as opposed to throwing in everything including the kitchen sink… their name is Sinclaire and they have a pet dog named Sudsy.

Jun 17, 2025Date Everything! is a love letter to the very concept of love in all of its many forms. Try as it may, AI will literally never make something as beautiful and authentic as this. Thanks to its lovable, well-written, gorgeously designed, and impeccably voice-acted cast of characters, it effortlessly achieved a love ending with me and I think it could get one with you, too.

Jun 12, 2025I wish the writing was a bit less shallow, which feels like a side effect of trying to cram so much in a small space and doing so with a sandbox-style structure. Visual novels benefit from guardrails preventing them from catering too much to the player, and Date Everything abstains to its own detriment. But it’s still cute and fun, and there’s no denying the dopamine hits and humor from each new character reveal. Sassy Chap’s debut game is a commendable effort, and more like this can only benefit visual novels as a whole.

Jun 25, 2025I really didn’t know what to expect from Date Everything. I mean, a game in which you can get amorous with your curtains is not your average Nintendo Switch experience. But that unusual uniqueness is all part of Date Everything’s substantial charm, it’s a delight bantering with a larger-than-life cast of characters that you can’t help but grow to love. Funny and life-affirming, don’t swipe left when it comes to Date Everything.

Jun 24, 2025When Date Everything was announced, it was hard to know what to expect exactly. In conclusion, Sassy Chap has created a wild, but sincere dating sim that manages to be both funny and moving at the same time. Behind its unusual concept lies a gallery of carefully crafted characters, all of whom deserve to be known. A few concessions to aesthetics and even narrative are to be regretted, with the initial plot ultimately unfinished. Similarly, while the roster shines in terms of variety and inclusiveness, the sheer number of characters makes it hard to keep up. Despite this, fans of visual novels should appreciate this fresh approach served up by a well-known cast. It's just a pity it hasn't been translated into French.

Jun 12, 2025Date Everything provides an ideal dating simulator recipe: charming characters, a light-hearted tone, and an incredibly disturbing premise. Unfortunately, performance issues at launch also provided a significant obstacle, and I had a hard time getting over some of the narrative ups and downs. There’s certainly a lot to sink your teeth into with Date Everything, which took me a little over 40 hours to complete, but I was left wondering if all the time spent was really worth it for the level of depth the game provides.
