Aug 4, 2020While M2’s emulation work is spectacular as always, the Darius Cozmic Collection suffers from a failure of imagination. It envisions the history of this eclectic, evocative franchise as a commodity to be fastidiously repackaged and sold as’ content’ rather than taking the opportunity to explore and appreciate one of the strangest sagas in gaming. It’s a frustratingly narrow view that leaves the Darius story untold, and Taito has ensured that these collections will blend in with countless others on a shelf, struggling to be found in the crowded marketplace.

Jun 19, 2020A couple of omissions grate and it's hardly cheap, but this is a sumptuous collection for the grandest of shmups. [Eurogamer Recommended]

Jul 20, 2020The only issue with Darius Cozmic Collection is the price and its unusual means of delivery. Everything I’ve spoken about so far pertains to Darius Cozmic Collection Arcade, which costs $44.99. If you want the full Darius experience, you will also want to grab Darius Cozmic Collection Console, which includes a bundle of rare Darius console games. It costs $59.99. That’s a combined price tag over a hundred bucks. [Polygon Recommends]
