    Cthulhu Saves Christmas is a fun game with great dialogue, a combat system that’s more hit than miss, and an overall amount of content that’s way too short for its own good. If you’re hungry for some JRPG action, appreciate a well-written comedic story, and don’t mind something that’s a quick burn, this is definitely something that you’ll want to pick up this holiday season. Or, you know, sometime in November. Whatever works for you.

    Loved this game! It is a quaint game that doesn't take its self seriously. The humor is very meta. If you like turn-based rpgs this is sure to excite.

    Really poor showing this time, especially after Cosmic Star Heroine or even Cthulhu saves the World. Story can be pretty funny but it is a side game in which the story is an afterthought. Don't expect the plot developments to move you, its all no fourth wall wackiness. Traditional JPRG tropes like Inns and weapon shops are done away with to make a painfully unfunny gag about the Persona series. Instead of social links, you go to places. Generally, you get items, but you can't get all of them. Hope you get lucky and get some good ones.

    Emphasis seems to have been placed on the combat and it's...pretty bad. Everything is spongier than it has to be and some random encounters take enough thought that they are basically minibosses. Not helping matters is that the game only gives you four party members, two of which are basically healers/support and one of which is a crazy chicken character. i have no idea what they even wanted me to do with her. Main character is the only DPS, which makes the spongy enemies problem much worse. Also, half of your moves and randomly assigned, which gives everything a better be lucky than good feeling.

With varying difficulty settings, it’s even perfect for a JRPG humbug like myself. Whilst it may not have the same level of level design as the original game, it certainly matches it in the narrative. Iä! Iä! Christmas fhtagn!"
