    I'm enjoying it. It isn't a masterpiece, nothing groundbreaking has happened and probably won't happy but the game is solid and very enjoyable.

    Graphics and music wise, the game is great, but rather standard. In the mechanics field it seems to shine, or at the very least deviate greatly from the norm. The battle have a few interesting mechanics that keep most fights from being same-y    I'm enjoying it.     Graphics and music wise, the game is great, but rather standard. In the mechanics field it seems to shine, or at the very least deviate greatly from the norm. The battle have a few interesting mechanics that keep most fights from being same-y while giving you all the options you need. Battles are not random, you can see enemies coming, and there are very few of them, but you can always grind by initiating battles from the menu. Items tend to be less stat-oriented and give you unique features that help you adjust your strategy.

    The story and characters are mostly forgettable but the overall experience is fun.

    I recommend this to anyone who's looking for something unique to fill the void between major releases.    … Expand

    Such a mixed bag.

    On one hand, you have the awesome graphics, good sound/music, the Chrono Trigger nostalgia feel, and some cool abilities. It can also be fun to put together an amazing combo of buffs and debuffs to make one single Hyper (ie, limit break) attack do incredibly massive damage and possibly one or two shot even bosses. On the other hand, you have *BUGS*. Seriously, did    Such a mixed bag.

    On the other hand, you have *BUGS*. Seriously, did no one test this? Because the bugs are absolutely glaring, like some abilities not working at all or shops displaying your credits vs cost of an item incorrectly by a factor of 10. I also got stuck on a wall and had to restart :(

    There are also too many characters and too many abilities for each character and the worst part: say I do a couple bosses and gain a few levels, then all the characters that weren't in my group have gained multiple new abilities. It's so overwhelming to go through everything again and reselect abilities. I just want to play and have fun while using complementary abilities the people have naturally.

    And the final nail in the coffin - the lazy, half-assed "dual tech" mechanic. Apparently, only the main character gets "dual techs", and you only get one per person. So if your favorite characters have crappy duals, you're completely screwed.

    Maybe try it on sale, otherwise don't bother.    … Expand

    This is an OK old school style RPG, with good mechanics, average soundtrack and stuff, but the story didn't hit me that much.

    The game seems to have some decent presentation, however it feels more like a "Would it be cool if we did this?" rather then "Would this make the games experience better?"     Comenzamos la historia manejando a una agente de un servicio secreto y como buen JRPG en la medida que    Cosmic Star Heroine es un JRPG con gráficos en modalidad de 16 bits que destaca por su jugabilidad y por incorporar algunas mecánicas de batalla interesante. El juego se encuentra ambientado en un mundo futurista donde encontraremos tecnología muy avanzada, naves espaciales y robots.
    Comenzamos la historia manejando a una agente de un servicio secreto y como buen JRPG en la medida que vamos avanzando nos encontraremos con muchos personajes que se unirán a nuestro grupo, los cuales podremos utilizar a gusto, subirlos de nivel, aprender nuevos hechizos y establecer estrategias de acuerdo al rol de cada personaje. Eso puede parecer abrumador a primera vista, ya que son realmente bastante personajes los que encontraremos y cada uno aprende una infinidad de habilidades en la medida que aumentan su nivel, por lo que ocuparemos un tiempo estudiando las habilidades, probándolas y generando estatregias para el combate. Una vez que logramos manejar la modalidad de batalla, ésta termina siendo súper adicitiva. De todas formas, también es posible jugar de manera más liviana, el juego tiene varios niveles de dificultad y los fáciles son extremamente fáciles.

    La música y sonidos son un excelente apartado del juego, la música se siente extremadamente natural y terminará inevitablemente sonando en tu cabeza aun sin estar jugando.

    La historia es entretenida, adecuada para un mundo del futuro y va aumentando su tensión en la medida que avanza el juego.

    En general, Cosmic Star Heroine es un juego muy bien logrado en todos sus apartados, lo disfruté mucho y su relación precio-calidad es sobresaliente, es un juego económico que tiene muchísima diversión que ofrecer y es absolutamente recomendable para cualquier fan de los RPG.    … Expand

    Not played much yet but the controls are nice, the battle mechanics work well. I'm not huge on menu based RPGs but like them for a change of scenery. Not constantly bumping enemies, which is a huge bonus.

    Looks really nice. Sounds not ground breaking but nice. Plays well. It's a fun cheapy.

    Overall, I think it was a pretty fun game and worth the $1.49 I spent to pick it up on the switch. Initially I really liked that I didn't have to worry about managing sp bars or carrying potions, but after a while it made the combat feel less meaningful as it didn't matter if one of my party members got knocked out during battle. The story was ok, but I didn't really like how the finalOverall, I think it was a pretty fun game and worth the $1.49 I spent to pick it up on the switch. Initially I really liked that I didn't have to worry about managing sp bars or carrying potions, but after a while it made the combat feel less meaningful as it didn't matter if one of my party members got knocked out during battle.     I got this game when it was on sale in the EShop for about 2 or 3 bucks, and my gold coins covered the whole cost. So it was a freebie. Aside from the cost though, I did enjoy the game. I don't play RPGs much. Not that I don't like them, but I tend to play more action-oriented games and fighters, and racing games. I grew up on Pokemon though if that counts. And the characters mostly are OK, although there's not much to them at all. However, I was not a big fan of the character Dave. Not only was he slightly annoying, but to me he's the most useless in terms of his abilities. He was said to have not been in the field so that makes some sense, but I was elated when I gained the option of swapping party members after progressing through the game. Things got more interesting when other characters got introduced. I will say that the story is somewhat lacking. It was interesting at first but it's not all that memorable. My biggest problem with the game is that there just seem to be certain factors that are mentioned as part of combat strategy, yet they do not seem relevant whatsoever to the actual game play. As I said before I don't typically play a lot of RPGs, so I could just be missing something. But there are elements such as Cunning, Hackitude and Style, that are supposed to have some role within encounters with enemies that seem to mean nothing. By the time I was near the end of the game and all the more after I beat it, I still wasn't very sure of what those things were supposed to do. I just felt like they were meaningless empty stats. In regards to graphics, it looks great with its colorful retro asthetic. And I like the music as well. I beat the game in 20 in-game hours. Wasn't on it every day. And aside from playing the game under different difficulty settings, there's not much else to do that make it all that replayable. But I did start a new game and at one point I looked at the spy directory on the main menu, and it seems like there are tons more characters that I don't recall seeing. I did start a new game and hopefully I will find them if they're there. Overall, I would say that if you don't play games of this type that often, then it's pretty accessible but if you want something deeper you may want to look elsewhere.… Expand

    At a first glance, Cosmic Star Heroine is a throwback to the JRPGs of the past. With a superb pixel-art style, deep combat system and fast-paced narrative, it becomes much more than a mere homage.

    Cosmic Star Heroine is far more than a simple send-up of some of the genre’s most beloved classics. It may imitate a similar art style and plot development, but it shows a good amount of innovation in some key areas. Particularly its combat system is packed with new and interesting ideas that require a good deal of attention paid during even rote battles. The variety of combat systems end up being as much of a drawback as an advantage late in the game, though, when lengthy skirmishes seem needlessly protracted. What still remains is a fun, if not terribly demanding galactic romp to save the cosmos alongside a crew of colorful, if not terribly deep pals.

    Cosmic Star Heroine is a retro style RPG that will delight lovers of the genre, but that will leave you wanting more and a bittersweet taste when you see the unexploited potential that could have turned it into a AAA game.
