    Cooking Mama: Cookstar is a mess, and isn’t worth the controversy around its release. There is little to no reward for success, or even for trying. The motion controls don’t work. The content is often recycled from past games. The fact that it was somehow released in this state is kind of interesting, and physical copies may become collector’s items, but that will only be due to their rarity, not any value in the game itself.

    Poor graphics, horrendous controls, off putting voice work. I am well aware this game was never authorized to be released.

    This review contains spoilers, click full review link to view. I played the previous Cooking Mama games growing up, so this release evokes nostalgia. I love how Cookstar has been updated with trendy recipes and cute new sayings from Mama. The motion controls are smooth and natural. My favorite part that I've discovered is at the end of the burger recipe - you can continue to add a ridiculous amount of fries until Mama tells you it’s too much!
