Jul 24, 2020Poor graphics, horrendous controls, off putting voice work. I am well aware this game was never authorized to be released.

Apr 5, 2020Having the ability to fix dinner in the kitchen all the while my son is cooking his favorite meal, a grilled cheese is priceless. Little Chris and I now cook dinner together!!!

Apr 5, 2020Just got this game for my kids (6 and 13) and all
I can saw is wow! My 6 year old always loved cooking and would ask to stir things etc so now he can cook things along with us! Great game and would highly recommend. -
Mar 29, 2023Just another Cooking Mama game--nothing special that the previous games didn't already have. If anything, a bit more obnoxious with the modern social media take on it. Controls are a bit unresponsive and wonky as well, and some instructions are unclear. Voice acting is a bit weird.

Apr 11, 2020Got one!
If you love Mama get a copy before they are literally gone.
You can take pictures of the food when you're done and there's a ton of recipes with and without meat which is great!! I haven't gotten 3 stars on all the veggie ones yet -
Feb 24, 2021Cooking Mama Cookstar the opus Cooking Mama on Switch is back even stronger for cool recipes. The game is quite simple in portable mode and quite tough in home mode.
The game is cool with pretty big content.
The problem is that you can't do recipe mode in multiplayer mode.

Apr 27, 2020All of this writing might be for nothing as the odds of most people being able to play Cookstar seem low. The digital version is still vapor and physical copies are unavailable from the publisher and the majority of retailers. It’s unclear if Cookstar will warrant fans selling entire Switch consoles with the game downloaded as was the case with the Silent Hills Playable Teaser on PlayStation 4, but it nevertheless might take extraordinary measures for the average fan to play Cookstar. For those who do get the chance, especially if they’re a fan of Cooking Mama, they can do a lot worse. For everyone else, this is a mostly middling effort that might have risen above with greater polish and ambition from all involved.

Apr 20, 2020While there’s definitely room for improvement and expansion, I can see kids liking this game quite a bit. There’s plenty to unlock, and hearing that you did something better than Mama brings a smile. As someone new to the series, Cooking Mama: Cookstar felt reasonably fresh to me. But vets may find it more so resembles leftovers. Hopefully, the rights holder and publisher can work things out.

Apr 16, 2020If you’re even able to find a copy of Cooking Mama: Cookstar, you should probably reconsider where you’re spending your money. I know there’s a fanbase for the series that are vehemently wishing that the game will be good and that the bizarre story behind its release is all just an unlucky set of circumstances. But the fact of the matter is, Cookstar has nuked the kitchen and left us standing among a snowfall of ash and burnt Chicken Tikka Masala. I hate to say it, but the series may be cooked.
