Mar 9, 2020I didn't expect it but it really is a good and fun game. Difficult but fun. Would highly recommend the game. Bought it in sale for 7 euro's and having a blast with it.

Feb 14, 2020Amazing game, so intuitive and peacfull to play even dying thousands of times
-
Mar 12, 2020Fast paced, challenging, and emotionally satisfying in equal measure, Celeste certainly fits the category of "must be played to be believed."
-
Mar 22, 2020This game gets challenging really fast, but the controls are easy to learn. It looks nice and it's fun to try and overcome the challenges. If you like difficult platformers, this one is definitely for you.

Apr 29, 2020Fun and fair, yet tough and demanding. The music rules, the mechanics feel so forgiving and smooth which makes each death feel less annoying, and its visually beautiful. Just a great time

Mar 10, 2023Fantastic thought and clever design makes this tough as nails platformer undeniably enjoyable. A beautiful game that kept me trying over and over and OVER to get those strawberries. Couldn’t put it down! A must play!
-
Jul 26, 2020One of the best 2d games on the switch. Super unique gameplay and great story
-
Sep 18, 2020Frustratingly hard at times, yet impossible to put down, with a genuinely touching story; this game is an indie masterpiece. Whilst not perhaps for everyone, I would recommend everyone give it atleast give it a try.

Feb 23, 2022Celeste is one of my favourite npcs in animal crossing. The use of an owl for a space focused npc is simply genius storytelling, as the night is black as well space and the darkness that envelopes my soul

Feb 19, 2021One of the best 2D platformers of all time, with excellent level design, creative and fun mechanics. The game is hard yes, but it always gives you a fair challenge and that feeling of accomplishment when you finish it. Play it with patient and in time you would make it. Tottaly recommended.
-
Apr 14, 2021A very nice precision platformer in which the antiquated and basic style of the in-game sprites stands in perfect opposition to the magnificent backgrounds and the beautiful music which intensifies during the playthrough of the different chapters. For once the goal isn't to rescue a kidnapped person or to save the world, a most refreshing aspect in a platformer.
-
Apr 24, 2021The controls are flawless. The graphics are amazing. The music is really beautiful. The levels are HARD though, man.
But the STORY. The story is what kept me trying. I usually don't care for the stories in games, but when I got to the breathing feather part...thing, I knew this game was special. -
-
Jan 29, 2022Fantastic platformer with a perfect difficulty curve. One of the best games of 2018.
-
Mar 9, 2022A fun and challenging platformer, with a story that keeps you motivated, with very little amounts of time where it feels repetitive.

Jun 7, 2022I love the art style and gameplay of Celeste. The story I really enjoyed as well with it's themes of mental health. Overall I really recommend this game to anyone who hasn't played it yet

Apr 16, 2023Best Indie Game of all time, the gameplay is so satisfying and the pixel world design is astonishing.
-
Apr 8, 2023Celeste has probably the best platforming physics out of any 2d platformer. It's a simple game about climbing a mountain and it's story is also about climbing said mountain. The music is also awesome.
-
Jul 5, 2023dying 10,000 times was fun :D
Celeste is one of the best platformers I've ever played maybe best. Just play and experience this. -
Jul 22, 2023its a great game, it has great graphics, excellent game design, and an enticing narrative, its exploration of mental health is refreshing, and I enjoyed it. However, it is VERY HARD, I gave up on chapter 9, cuz i died like 1300< times. In 3 words, Hard but Great.

Jun 6, 2020Celeste is such a good 2D platformer. The movement is precise. The controls are simple but have plenty of room for creativity within the games many mechanics. Just look at a speedrun to see what I mean.

-
May 10, 2018Very fun platformer with some fun characters, great music, solid controls, and a pretty decent story. The game is also gorgeous.
-
Aug 13, 2018Jogabilidade inovadora. Fases bastante criativas. Narrativa que causa questionamento entre o jogador e sua consciência.
-
Jul 16, 2021One of the best platformers on the system. The gameplay is really deep and each level has a different mechanic to use. If you are a fan of the genre you must play this.
-
Jul 22, 2019While Celeste story was a complete bore to me, the gameplay including the fast reset kept me attempting to beat each level just one more time. The soundtrack was one of my favorite of the year, and this made for an overall enjoyable game.
-
Aug 9, 2020Muito bem desenvolvido, conseguiram me surpreender, eu que estava bem pessimista com esse jogo, lançou e calou minha boca, parabéns pelo excelente trabalho.
-
Feb 9, 2020I should probably rate it higher but I can't quite do it. Definitely couldn't rate it lower though. You die a million times, and then another million times but the game keeps it fun keeping each "room" or return location pretty close to where you die.
-
Jun 30, 2020This game is hard. But highly addictive. The visuals, music and story are really good.
-
Jun 22, 2020While I didn't feel compelled to carry on with the game after I finished the main objective (for me the story ended there), I loved every minute.
-
Mar 24, 2022Love this game to pieces. I didn't know what this game is when I picked it up on a sale, but it was something else entirely.
-
Oct 17, 2020I bought the digital version of this game for $10. The critics have this ranked as a top 5 game. It’s not a top 5 game, and not even a steal at $10. It is, however, a very solid and difficult platformer with a great story. It takes about 8-10 hours to beat and a lot more to 100% by collecting all the strawberries. And now that it goes on sale for $5, it is a steal. Go out and get it.

Jan 22, 2023A fun indie platformer with an extremely depressing story and vibe. Put on a podcast, mute the music, and press A repeatedly during the dialogue, and you will have a blast because the gameplay is awesome.

Aug 12, 2021Truly unique and inspired. The lore is entertaining and the characters, although no larger than a few pixels, feel detailed and breathed-in. I thoroughly enjoyed the challenging gameplay and for myself, it fits within a range of not-too-easy but rewarding. I would recommend it to anyone looking to kill a few hours.
-
Oct 23, 2022Well I really love the game's story. But, the excess of levels and repetitive scenarios, kind of threw me off. I was already understanding the deep story, but I expected the game to end soon. I was so tired of repetitive jumps and nothing new added.

Jun 9, 2022This is a fun game, but in no way I see why it's so acclaimed as a masterpiece, it's a fun, short and somehow forgettable experience, all in all worth the time, but not the memory.

Oct 2, 2018Run, jump, air-jump, reset, repeat. It's a good game for its genre but its genre it relatively overdone lately and it's repetitive. If you are in for a platformer of the basic style with some modern touches here and there go for it but don't expect anything revolutionary or original or varying.
-
Mar 5, 2018It's good, it really is. But in absolutely no world does it deserve the scores it's getting.
Pros:
-Sound/music
-You don't have to wait long after dying
-Nice pixel art
Cons:
-Parts get a bit frustrating
-"Story" is lame
-Price is too high -

Jul 15, 2018It's a good game but rather overrated.
Pros: Fun mechanics; good (but not great) level design; captivating, colorful visuals.
Cons: Monotonous; shallow story (2nd grade level); some mechanics are tedious (e.g. when the wind blows against the character). -

May 22, 2022I enjoyed it at the beginning but it became very samey over time. The storyline and characters were okay, though mostly forgettable. It's an alright game if you can pick it up for a couple bucks but it wasn't worth what I paid.

May 23, 2018I was enjoying this challenging 2D platformer quite a bit, but the Joy-con controls just aren't up to the task. I've probably died twice as much just due to the controls, which is frustrating. If you have the Pro controller use that, or get it on PS4, but either way this game needs a D-pad!

-
Jun 25, 2018A beautiful game, but the difficulty is a little over the top. I wish games like this would be smarter about difficulty: having a high skill ceiling is great, but you should not make your game inaccessible to people who are not hardcore gamers. I play games to relax, not to be frustrated - if I could refund the game, I would. This way I just won't buy the next one from this studio.

Jun 11, 2020Challenging, somewhat overhyped, definetly overpriced action platformer. With no flaws in execution. Get it on Sale. If the price drops below 10 Euros, add 2 points; if it drops below 5 Euros, add 3 points.

Oct 7, 2018Somehow, I can't get into many of those hypetrain games...at all. It's well made, the graphics are great, controls solid, but...it's not for me. I'm not the type of guy who likes to stare at a screen trying to memorise button combinations, trying stuff over and over and over... I'm sure it's an enjoyable challenge for some, but not for me.

Mar 16, 2020Compared to other great indies like cuphead, hollow knight, dead cells, gris etc., this game feels like another mobile 3$ game
-
Jun 15, 2022Very over hyped. Music is by far it's.high point as the game just...isn't very fun. No idea why I fell for the hype and wasted $5 knowing it wasn't my sort of thing. Have enough frustration without a game of see how many times you die adding to it. Don't take the plunge unless you know you like trying to do the same jump 500 times.
-
Dec 10, 2022Gameplay is average. Story is terrible and makes you want to stop playing it. Don’t spend more than five dollars if you want this.
-

-
Feb 8, 2018Hype machine in full swing. Suggest trying Towerclimb which is so much better and underated.
-
Jan 9, 2019A very overrated game with nothing too special. The great feature is the soundtrack, which is really good, but the rest of the game is just like any other indie shovelware. It would deserve a 6, maybe a 7, but I gave it a 4 because the saddest thing is that the game is hyped by the specialized media just because the political views and connections of the author, which is a very disgusting fact.

-
Oct 10, 2018It tells a surprisingly deep and emotional story featuring a relatable main character and it all blends uniquely together to make one of the finest gaming experience of the year. Celeste might not look it but, just like the mountain Madeline is so determined to conquer, it towers above the rest quite easily.
-
Aug 25, 2018As most indie-keen gamers already know, Celeste is a phenomenal 2D platformer. Almost everything about it comes together to make a satisfying and challenging game that'll thoroughly put your skills to the test.
-
Jun 12, 2018My hands actually hurt from gripping the Switch but I couldn’t stop, and when I finally landed on the other side of one of the many gauntlets that Celeste wears like a medal, I felt both relief and curiosity as to what it would throw at me next. It’s a rewarding experience and a game that I’m honoured to issue a perfect score.
