I completed this game this past weekend on the Switch (bonus levels included / 48 batteries) and I had some sort of love/hate relationship with it! I hate the knock back mechanic (very frustrating especially when there is almost always a pit nearby), the ''forward action'' (can't go back), the time-split second it takes to jump or hit (not a big deal, but not a 100% fluid), the fact that you have to restart all the way to the beginning of the level if you die more than 3 times in a specific section or during the boss fight.

The music was ok, but nothing special. The story was cool/interesting, but nothing special. I personally mostly used Liliana, but you need to be ready to switch character depending on the enemies attacks. The game seems fairly easy, but it is quite hard at times especially due to the knock back mechanic and the enemies location.

This title deserves a 7.5 out of in my book!

If you relish the days when death by bad jumping mechanics was commonplace in gaming and enemy hits were cheap, you might like the nostalgia Caveman Warriors brings. But, if you’re looking for a refined experience, this is probably not the co-op experience you’re looking for.

A lot of Caveman Warriors’ design feels outdated; it’s a title that relies on mediocre action-platforming, on top of average cartoon visuals and a simplistic combat system. It never goes out of its way to impress you, but it also won’t leave you wanting more.

Caveman Warriors is yet another 2D platformer that arrives on the Nintendo Switch eShop. While it has its pluses thanks to a varied characters roster, it also feels like it still embodies many of the problems that affected 2D platformers in their day, while lacking any of the elements that made them good.
