Feb 1, 2019Played it on PC and it had a lot of replayability and so I bought it on Switch as I thought it would be good value for the amount it would keep me occupied. Really surprised at how intuitive the controls are and prefer it to the PC version. Still frustratingly difficult, though.

Jan 17, 2019Plays like a mash up of Isaac, Super Meat Boy, and Rastan rolled into one. Tight controls, quality music, and chopping goblins into bloody pixelated pieces has yet to get old.
Perfect game when you got 15 minutes to spare and just wanna run down the rabbit hole. Added bonus of being to run through with a friend is also nice. -
Feb 9, 2019This game is amazing, especially for only 10 bucks. I have been hopelessly addicted for weeks. Controls feel great, the gameplay is very fun and mostly fair. The graphics are fun.The randomization and variety of abilities and items in each play through keep it interesting. I think it's right up there with Binding of Isaac in terms of games of this genre. One of my all-time favorites.

Feb 4, 2019Probably one of the most addictive games I've ever played and perfect with the Switch. Great controls, difficult bosses, tons of weapons to choose from with a super sophisticated item system plus blessings perks, clothing options plus the arena mode if you just want a short one. The perfect balance of difficulty + fun!

Apr 16, 2019This game is as addicting as advertised. It is extremely grindy and very fast-paced, which is why I always feel like I can do better whenever I die (even if it never happens). If you think you'll like this game, I would recommend trying it out.

Jun 3, 2021This game is pure awesomeness!!! I’ve got 25 hours in and I’m finally getting the hang of it. I think I’m gonna beat it in another 10. And then I’m gonna put in another 100 hours beating it over and over again. Maybe 200. It’s so damn fun! I can’t believe it was made by a single person. He is my hero. I wish I paid more for this game!!!

Aug 14, 2019Frantic, challenging and shocking. It offers a good experience thanks to its perfect controls, different game modes and the randomness of each game.

Mar 4, 2019It’s unfortunate that the roguelike genre has gotten so stuffed lately. Caveblazers is a sharply put together game. If I had received it as a birthday present for my Gameboy in the late 90s, I would have played it on every long car ride. It’s tightly made and has a great gameplay loop. It leads itself to some really exciting moments. But after playing through it for several hours, I loaded up the Nintendo store and bought Dead Cells for my Switch.

Jan 17, 2019Caveblazers doesn’t do enough wrong to be disappointing, but it doesn’t do enough right to be exceptional, meaning that it occupies that awkward space in the middle. The utterly unremarkable visual style and simplistic combat is offset by a surprisingly deep well of unlockables and well-paced progression systems; this is a roguelike that checks all the right boxes, but never becomes more than the sum of its parts. If you enjoyed Risk of Rain or Dead Cells, Caveblazers is a decent recommendation, but also understand that there are far more memorable titles to be found on the eShop.
