Relive the Legacy: Experience a blast from Blizzard's past! The Blizzard® Arcade Collection brings three of our classic console games to modern platforms and new audiences. INCLUDED GAMES:

    • Blackthorne®: As mercenary captain Kyle Blackthorne, traverse an alien planet, liberate the Androthi people, and claim your destiny.

    • The Lost Vikings®: Help three Vikings—Erik, Baleog, and Olaf—overcome challenging platforms and puzzles to find their way back home.

    • Rock N Roll Racing®: Rock out in the raddest vehicular destruction derby this side of 1993. RNRR is back with original rock and metal soundtrack hits plus a few new surprises.

    LEVEL UP THE LEGACY:

The Blizzard Arcade Collection contains two different Original Editions of each game plus a new Definitive Edition!

    • The Original Editions are the games as you remember them but with new quality of life improvements included—like the ability to set custom keybindings, rewind your gameplay up to 10 seconds, save and load your game as well as watch playthroughs of Blackthorne and The Lost Vikings (and then jump in to play at any point). Improvements may vary by game and game edition.

The price of admission might be somewhat high, as the games on offer are good, but not really that good, yet these remain classics in one way or another, even if there were far better alternatives, even at the time of their development. Having said that, they are definitely enjoyable; a bunch of titles that have stood the test of time. More importantly, the quality of this collection couldn't be any higher. It's basically a fantastic bundle of nostalgia, with lots of different versions of each game, plus plenty of behind-the-scenes material, excellent for those who are into the historical preservation side of the industry.

The Blizzard Arcade Collection is a product of not only slavish devotion to the original releases, but also a glow up that presents the trio of classic games with its best presentation yet. The addition of rewind and save states lets newcomers experience them without having to beat their heads against the wall. Even better, the tome of special features and developer interviews shows a devotion from Blizzard to make this collection a true historical document that too many classic game collections lack. Even for those who haven’t played the originals, this is a package I’m happy to recommend to anyone.

From restoring the soundtrack of Rock N' Roll Racing with chiptunes and CD-quality tracks, to highlighting the rare but ugly Sega 32X version of Blackthorne, to jamming the best parts of all Lost Vikings releases into one game, this is an exhaustive look at three really cool ’90s gems that goes above and beyond what you’d expect from Activision-Blizzard. Anyone who loves one of these games, or who’s a fan of modern Blizzard and wants a window into its past, will be satisfied here despite a handful of slight disappointments.

Blizzard Arcade Collection is a great collection made for early fans of the company, and it brings three great titles with their respective versions for everyone's taste. The extra material is also excellent, and for sure many players will feel gifted with them. However, many inconsistent decisions among the different versions are quite questionable, giving the impression that it's often a best choice to get into the SNES or Mega Drive/SEGA 32X versions, since these ones have the feature of save state and rewind, offering more freedom to the player. We hope that an update can fix these flaws and add the same features for all the three games.

Some people will find the price a bit steep, and they probably won't be wrong. Yet, apart from the drastic selection of this compilation, Blizzard Arcade Collection has been the subject of real care.

As a birthday gift from Blizzard to itself, Blizzard Arcade Collection has been put together with some care. Sometimes good things come in smaller packages, though, and a lot of the content here is superfluous. Two of the Definitive Edition games are worse than the SNES titles also included, while Rock 'n Roll Racing’s is so successful that including the SNES and Mega Drive versions has only really added clutter. The result is a need to start every version of every game a few times to work out which one is actually worth playing, which somewhat spoils the party. But, for all those imperfections, there’s a lot to love: it may not be exactly what we’ve always wanted, but it’s the thought that counts.

Overall, this is a comprehensive, complete-feeling package in terms of its original inclusions, that gives you two very excellent games from the earliest days of a gaming giant - games that will bring a smile to your face whether you played them at the time or not. And alongside those, a curio that might pique the interest of some, but is probably best left in the past; and 'Definitive' versions of varying results.

Although none of theWhat do you call a collection of classic SNES games (other version also included)? Of course, the Arcade collection! Although none of the games included ever had an arcade version. A little expensive at first but after adding another 2 games (Lost Vikings 2, RPM Racing) this is a very solid collection of games. RPM Racing is filler but the other 4 are great.
The obvious highlight of the bunch is the modernized version of Rock N Roll Racing with 16:9 and 4-Player-Split-Screen. For reasons only Blizzard knows this is also the only game in the collection in which you can't save at all times. You have to use the old password system. It's out for over 2 years now and this still hasn't been patched which is mind-boggling to me.
Would they fix that issue this woud easily get an 8 but in this state it's still flawed.

Rock n Roll Racing was good but felt a bit limited compared to newer racers. Nice soundtrack although I wish there were more songs.

The other games were just terrible with slow clunky controls.

Also, why make people record a 12 digit password for each game. I know this pack is all about nostalgia but there is no pleasure in loosing progress when you turn the game off before recording the password.

Ik like the games but using a password instead of save files is really a bummer
