    As a birthday gift from Blizzard to itself, Blizzard Arcade Collection has been put together with some care. Sometimes good things come in smaller packages, though, and a lot of the content here is superfluous. Two of the Definitive Edition games are worse than the SNES titles also included, while Rock 'n Roll Racing’s is so successful that including the SNES and Mega Drive versions has only really added clutter. The result is a need to start every version of every game a few times to work out which one is actually worth playing, which somewhat spoils the party. But, for all those imperfections, there’s a lot to love: it may not be exactly what we’ve always wanted, but it’s the thought that counts.

    Some people will find the price a bit steep, and they probably won't be wrong. Yet, apart from the drastic selection of this compilation, Blizzard Arcade Collection has been the subject of real care.

    Overall, this is a comprehensive, complete-feeling package in terms of its original inclusions, that gives you two very excellent games from the earliest days of a gaming giant - games that will bring a smile to your face whether you played them at the time or not. And alongside those, a curio that might pique the interest of some, but is probably best left in the past; and 'Definitive' versions of varying results.

    Quality over quantity: These three blizzard classics aged remarkably well, haven been modernized competently and are enhanced by loads of bonus material.

    Rock n Roll Racing was good but felt a bit limited compared to newer racers. Nice soundtrack although I wish there were more songs.

    The other games were just terrible with slow clunky controls.

    Also, why make people record a 12 digit password for each game. I know this pack is all about nostalgia but there is no pleasure in loosing progress when you turn the game off before recording the password.    … Full Review »

Although none of the games included ever had an arcade version. A little expensive at first but after adding another 2 games (Lost Vikings 2, RPM Racing) this is a very solid collection of games. RPM Racing is filler but the other 4 are great.
    The obvious highlight of the bunch is the modernized version of Rock N Roll Racing with 16:9 and 4-Player-Split-Screen. For reasons only Blizzard knows this is also the only game in the collection in which you can't save at all times. You have to use the old password system. It's out for over 2 years now and this still hasn't been patched which is mind-boggling to me.
    Would they fix that issue this woud easily get an 8 but in this state it's still flawed.    … Full Review »
