Nov 16, 2025For people who grew up watching Gamemaster, early MTV, Hartbeat, ‘80s soaps, Bill Nye or Open University programming, and scanning the high channels past midnight for a glimpse of something softcore, Blippo+ is an absolute must-play must-watch. It really is a work of art, nailing the aesthetic of early-'90s TV and uncannily capturing a time and place in the way a song or a smell evokes a memory - in a way that feels almost personal. You need to treat it like old-school TV, though, surfing a little bit each day and soaking up the static; do not approach it as a game. And as fun as it is — as wonderfully assembled, expertly performed, and lovingly crafted — nostalgia for (or at least intellectual interest in) the era feels like a prerequisite. I’m an ‘80s kid, though, so I adored every second.

Sep 23, 2025If you’re a fellow old immune or even antagonistic towards nostalgia, don’t fret: Blippo+’s presentation might ape old traditions, but the collective impact of its content is richer, deeper, and more entertaining than any mere remembrance. Blippo+’s legit art, and fun, at that. Give it a shot, and try to imagine how it could’ve become a core part of your personality if you encountered it back in the seventh grade.

Sep 23, 2025As an avid lover of television, one of the things I appreciated the most about Blippo+ is how much it establishes itself as a love letter to the medium. Not just often-parodied famous shows, but the esoteric pockets of soap operas and cable access that will feel familiar to many who grew up with them. Simultaneously nostalgic and futuristic, otherworldly yet welcoming, Blippo+ is an absolute artistic triumph.

Oct 14, 2025Blippo+ definitely isn’t for everyone, but I do think it is something that can be enjoyed by everyone. Whether you’re into FMV-like games or not, there is a spark of joy that can be felt in every program you come across. The overall story is fun and will keep you engaged over the six to eight hours of Blippo+ you’ll be watching. There is a variety on display here that is so rarely found in modern games of any type. The real stand out is that it shows a new avenue for what FMV-games can be about. Not just mysteries or dark tales, but fun and creativity are what drive Blippo+. There is no game like it I’ve played all year and is something that I will often be thinking about in the months to come. If you’re looking for a game that’s both passive and creative, you will simply need to tune in to Blippo+.
