Love theese games, alchemy is great, no time limits. I keep coming back for the feeling rather than the story.

Atelier Sophie 2 is definitely on the best RPG games I've ever played period. I just love all the characters and story and music and graphics and combat lol. Too bad the game does end so hoping we can see more of these kind of great games in the near future.

So yes, it's true, I've been a fan (and collector) of the Atelier series for over 15 years, but objectively, Atelier Sophie 2 is a very good episode. The game has the good idea to take the mechanics of its predecessor while improving them, so much so that Gust gives us the impression of taking a different direction than that taken with Ryza. Is this a way of trying to reconcile the fans of the first hour while continuing its seduction operation with a new audience? Well, here's what I think: I don't care! I loved the game, and I'm delighted to have been able to have a great time again with Sophie, the chemistry is still so exciting and I got hooked on her combat system. The story is certainly a leitmotiv, some additions certainly give the impression of being futile, but the overall experience that emerges is greater than I expected. Also, despite its sequel status, and if English is not a barrier for you, then I warmly invite you to discover this new opus, which can be an extremely interesting entry in the series.

I'm starting play Atelier series since Ryza 1, and I'm Falling in Love to Atelier and of course I Played Ryza 2, and I Love it. But when I play Sophie 2 well...I really don't Like the Story and point of view character on this game!

Sophie 2 it's Defnetly Downgrande from the previous series! I don't mind gameplay Battle system Turn Base! Even I really Like it! But... Grafic downgrade!

Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream is another chapter of the Mysterious Trilogy and one that brings a series of welcome improvements regarding its predecessor, while keeping the fundamentals of the formula intact. What we have here is a classic Atelier game with a modern touch, featuring a gorgeous, vibrant and varied world with an original exploration system and an updated combat mechanic that makes it more dynamic. All in all, Atelier Sophie 2 is the best game in the Mysterious Trilogy.

I think it's best to start Sophie 2 knowing exactly what you're getting into. Is it a wholesome, cozy game? Yes. Will its gameplay test your knowledge and skill with complex systems? Also yes. But together, they provide a fun experience that longtime and new Atelier fans will enjoy. [Issue #59 – May/June 2022, p. 69]

While the overall package is lots of fun, it's not without a few issues. The lack of a truly driving story is by far Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream's weakest point. Furthermore, progression is in general just slow throughout, with endless backtracking. The simplified alchemy system is a mixed bag. It does little to stray from the formula and will be picked up by players exactly for that. It would be nice to see Gust take some risks and really step out with some new ideas rather than re-hashes of the same thing over and over.
