This isn't a game for everyone... As one look at the artwork would suggest.
This is more an interactive experience then a game.
It is important to know before playing the game that the rating system is random and doesn't matter. You don't have to struggle with the controls when drawing (which aren't great) because it doesn't matter. Who says your art is a D? Art is subjective. The bad

The bad painting controls feel like they have to be there. Sometimes the game gives you tasks that makes you laugh out loud. Things that are completely impossible with a bad version of paint and a controller that can't be as precise as a mouse.

You need to jank when you jump, stuff needs to odly roll when you touch it. It is part of the charm.
If you don't get the joke, you'll hate this game.
This is about exploring the world and sometimes draw some crap.

That isn't to say that this game avoids all critisism.
I feel like they really needed some characters to flesh out the world And increase the strangeness.

The positivity is also keeping in account the price tag.
Though 5 bucks or under seems like the perfect spot for this.
I highly recommend you check out the trailer and see if this seems like something for you.

    Not worth the price.
Artist and gamer here, there is nothing to do.

Gamewise, the mechanics are **** The world is cute, but has little interaction. I was able to wander around (very slowly! your character moves outrageously slow!) for 30 minutes before I saw everything. All you can do is choose a spot to draw, or pick up new tools and colors to draw with. Yes, the limited tools and colors aren't even unlocked at the start. I had to grind out basic colors for my art. The developer even sells these as an in-app purchase. I should not have to buy art tools separately in an ART GAME. There's also a grading system for your art that seemed interesting at first, but is seemingly random and useless. It grants you no progress.
In summary, the art is subpar for an art game, and everything else is even worse. Would be okay as a $2 game, maybe even $4, but $10 is a waste. I had fun for an hour and never played again.

This is the best game I have ever played in my life because of the thrilling story with complex character development, amazingly beautiful and stunning graphics, amazing movement and momentum mechanics, and the creativity that is unlocked with the drawing accessory that you can buy for the games takes the word creativity to a whole new level. It’s difficult to assign a score to a title as esoteric as Art Sqool, an art game that seeks to encourage players to tap into their creativity and doodle in the midst of a captivating, candy-coloured universe. Be it ruminating about the themes of your assignment in a cozy corner, or messing up your homework by haphazardly scribbling over your blank canvas, Art Sqool requires you to discover your potential and assign your own meaning to the experience. Even though I’ve found the game to be a ceaselessly charming one, there are also times when I quickly tire of its lack of incentives and activities. Give this a twirl if you’re looking to indulge your artistic capabilities and moments of quiet introspection.

Art Sqool fails as both an “art school simulator” and a video game. There’s nothing educational here, and its gameplay is the equivalent of scribbles I might’ve drawn as a toddler.

In the end, Art Sqool feels more like an art project itself, rather than a full-blown game. It’s a rather short experience and it might not be for everyone, but there is genuinely nothing else like it. I may never be an artist, but for the hours that I attended Art Sqool, I truly felt like I was creating something special.
