Outcasters is a fast paced multiplayer, twin sticks game that allows you to go against your friends or random people. You would think that a game like this wouldn’t thrive on the Stadia platform due to some of the issues the platform has had in the past but I’m happy to say that this is far from reality. With the fast growth of Stadia, the multiplayer seems to be thriving as well. Never once did I have issues to find a lobby to play making it really easy to jump in and out of games. When it comes to the actual gameplay, I can honestly say that this game is an absolute joy to play. You play as a customizable caster with a variety of objectives, depending of the mode you’re in. For example, if you’re playing in “Last Caster Standing,” The objective is to simply take out all the other players on the map similar to a Battle Royal type game. Or if you’re in the “Gold rush” mode, then the objective is to collect and bank coins and the first team to 50 wins. There are 3 modes in total and all equally fun to play. With 12 hours under my belt, I never once experienced fatigue in the frantic style of playing that the game introduces. Outcasters is reasonably priced too coming in at $20 or alternatively free with a Stadia Pro subscription at the time of writing this. Expand

Die Steuerung ist einfach zu kompliziert. Die hätten sich eher an Brawlstars orientieren sollen.

At first glance this game seems simple and fun. Once you get comfortable with it the game reveals its depth as a competitive online game. This is an original and addictive title that can keep even the most hard-core gamer occupied for quite a while.

Incredibly fun Stadia exclusive. The game is exclusively PVP and it feels very fair and very skill based. I also like that while there is a battle royale mode in the rotation, the game changes between other modes keeping it fun. It's a great game that plays great with controller. It plays okay with keyboard and mouse but the way the mouse control works I am less accurate. So I always playIncredibly fun Stadia exclusive. This game is incredibly fun to play. The power up combos, curve shot mechanic, and team objective maps are great and very replayable.

One of the most fun games I've seen on Stadia. it is a pity the player base is so small, but nevertheless the learning curve is not easy but challenging and enjoyable. It's fun to come back to it and even the bots are getting better over time.

Outcasters is a very enjoyable game that takes a fun twist on the online family-friendly competitive game genre and mixes it with a shooter in a way that works surprisingly well. It’s got a good combination of being simple enough that you don’t struggle to understand what’s going on, but getting a hang of curving your shots or utilizing the best combination of shot boosters takes time and practice. The only thing holding this game back at this point is the lack of depth. While fun, there are only three game modes, and all are limited to a maximum of ten players, which can mean at times you find yourself running around on a map waiting to run into someone on the other team. If they’re willing to add additional content this game would definitely grow in value, but as it stands, it still makes for a great way to spend a dozen or so hours. Expand

Gameplay is fun, varied, and exhilarating.
However matchmaking does not work because the active population of the game is insufficient for their matchmaking system to function adequately, which prevents players from experiencing significant chunks of the game since only the training/practice modes are reliably available.

Outcasters is a ton of fun! It gets lost in the sea of games on the Stadia platform, but it is a great time none the less. The customization of your vinyl is deap and fun. I really like this game and but it last a consistent player base.

It takes a bit of practise to get adjusted to the game, but once you figure out how to curve and move it is great fun. This game screams Free To

Not for me. Fun in bursts, but depth is lacking. I can see many people getting a kick out of this

An incredibly fun and addictive game to start with, but can get a bit repetetive after a while.

I'll explain, there are three modes to choose from, a team deathmatch which pits two teams of casters against each other to see who can attain the most kills, money in the bank which has you collecting coins for your bank whilst fending off the other team and stopping them from banking coins

I'll explain, there are three modes to choose from, a team deathmatch which pits two teams of casters against each other to see who can attain the most kills, money in the bank which has you collecting coins for your bank whilst fending off the other team and stopping them from banking coins too... and finally a last caster stading battle royale mode which is pretty much what it says on the tin.

Right off the bat this game is addictive and there are definitely lots of skills for you to practice, from curving your shots around corners or even U-turns, to using your powerups to either defend yourself or launch an offensive on the opposing team. Once you've mastered these skills though, the game can get a bit repetetive, and since you cannot necessarily choose which game mode you play, eventually you get tired of playing the same three modes over and over.

Coupled with the fact that Stadia still has a relatively low playerbase due to it's infancy, you more often than not find yourself just up against bots a lot of the time. Still, one redeeming feature for the game for those eligible for it is Crowd Play... a Stadia specific feature which allows YouTube streamers to open their games up to the public and have YouTube/Stadia handle all of the queining and invites. If you can find a Streamer with enough of a following, Crowd Play opens up an entirely new dynamic to the game - even if it is the same 3 modes.

I'd give the game a higher score though if I could see the developers actively developing more content for the game, but it seems to have been pretty stagnant as of late. But if you have Stadia... it's definitely worth a look at.

Lots of fun and fast paced. The quick gameplay(5mins round) and the various way you can stack the abilities are just awesome. Would like a few more maps/game modes because after a many hours it does get repetitive.

    - very very fun to play. easy to learn but hard to master
    - Excellent design and animation... the levels to the characters and celebrations are top-notch
    - Crowd Play implementation

    Not
    - Could use more game modes
    - MP lobbies are empty since the game left Pro. Time for the game to go Free 2 play tbh.

Expand

Outcasters is a fun game. The fun wears thin after about 30-45 minutes with only 3 game modes and a whole bunch of bots. It's badly in need of something fresh to entice people in as it could be a really good game with a little addition here and there. Free to play model would suit this game perfectly. develop for other platforms and enable cross-play.

Outcasters isn't the stellar killer-app that Stadia so deparately needs, but it offers enough to pad out the Pro subscription for Google's cloud gaming service just a little bit further. It's an extremely fun game that delivers on the promise of being easy to pick up and play but difficult to master.

Outcasters is an outrageously fun Stadia exclusive with an innovative shot mechanic and wacky graphics. If you can get a party for four together, it’s an amazing time, but even playing solo with online randoms is a great treat too.

Ultimately, Outcasters mostly seems ready to settle into its niche that it’s created. It’s not designed to be the killer app that reels in a mass of new players, but it should attract some. Better yet, since it launched directly into Stadia Pro, it’s there on day one for the folks who are already the most committed. For a platform trying to find its footing in a crowded, competitive space, solidifying the publisher-player relationship is crucial. There will be bigger, flashier, and likely better games to come from Stadia Games and Entertainment in the years ahead, but for now, those already playing via Google’s tangerine-tinted cloud will find they have their first example of a fun, albeit flawed, multiplayer game they won’t find anywhere else.
