Setting aside the hype, Cyberpunk 2077 is a monumental achievement. Narratively rich and visually striking, it can be immensely rewarding for those who love exploring every nook and cranny of an open world.

Keanu Reeves as Johnny Silverhand steals the show. He completely elevates the material he's given. I recommend playing through the game as Female V, largely because her voice acting coupled with Keanu's Johnny make for the best narrative experience.

However, Cyberpunk 2077 falls flat in one of the core aspects of the game - the main storyline. In a lot of caes, the side quests and random pop-up missions that you discover as you explore Night City are far more interesting and narratively rich than the actual main storyline.

Cyberpunk 2077 is a good game, and one that I recommend playing, but I recommend playing it with managed expectations. Bugs STILL abound even eight months after launch. Promised features are still missing and likely will never be included. Certain critical aspects of the game (Police AI? Crowd AI?) that other games got right decades ago (GTA IV and V, Red Dead Redemption II) are completely broken or non-existant here. It wouldn't be so distracting if the broken systems in question weren't so prominently featured in the game.

The frustrating thing about Cyberpunk 2077 is you can tell just by playing it that it was supposed to be so much more. The whole Pacifica arc seems like it was supposed to be a much bigger part of the game, but just when it starts getting interesting...its over. Alt seems like she was supposed to be the thread that weaves the entire story together...but she's barely in the game. Choice seems like it was supposed to be a major factor...but instead most of the endings are equally bleak, and the epilogues for each main character equally unsatisfying.

While the game starts somewhat strong, towards the end of the main storyline, the whole thing falls apart. If you're expecting a game with the narrative freedom of The Witcher 3, keep looking. Cyberpunk gives the illusion of choice, while basically being an on-rails Open World Lite experience.

Is Cyberpunk 2077 worth playing? Sure, if you can ignore the lackluster detail work and numerous bugs. Like the genre it's based on, Cyberpunk is style over substance, looks over details, visuals over but it still makes for a hell of a good looking ride. If you can catch it on sale, give it a look, but manage your expectations.

I had to put my anger aside in order to give this a 5/10. My review is about the game after all, not about the lies made by the company, the lack of integrity of it, and the false advertisement. Who am I kidding I absolutely hate CDPR, they didn't learn a thing about Bethesda's "16 times the detail" fail or from No Man's Sky. How did you dare say "Next-gen open world experience" or "itI had to put my anger aside in order to give this a 5/10. How did you dare say "Next-gen open world experience" or "it runs surprisingly well on ps4" among many other lies. You tried hiding the state of the game at all costs with stupid embargo and not giving console review copies. Absolute silence after game release and fake game fixes notes that break things and don't change anything about the open world experience. Anyways, the game is barely OK imo. There is no player election whatsoever despite being promised to us, as life paths are just a cinematic and don't matter at all. The story is linear and has no consequences to your actions (again, despite the promises). The story is not bad though, it's interesting for the most part except the **** ending (I can't believe you guys screwed it up so bad to the point of needing to load a savegame to continue playing). Characters are awesome, and they look awesome too. The writing is very good. My favorite thing is the city, but man, what a wasted potential, the AI sucks, the cops suck, the driving sucks... everything related to open world gaming is outdated even compared to GTA 3 or GTA San Andreas, games from 2001 and 2004 respectively (trust me I've played 160h and the open world is depressing). Cyberpunk 2077 is a middle finger to open world developments from the past 2 decades, and to quality control and gamers in general. Thankfully you canceled multiplayer, otherwise you would become the laughing stock of the whole gaming community, imagine doing multiplayer when you can't even do proper singleplayer. Hope that future game companies think twice before screwing with us again. Conclusion: Flawed open world & full of lies... but focus only on the story and it becomes barely OK. BTW it runs very good in Stadia compared to last gen consoles so performance was not an issue. Also, 10/10 by polish citizens and fanboys, and 0/10 by haters are completely wrong and disproportionate. The people who liked this game have clearly only played the story and on PC/Stadia, but have explored the open world to see how much it sucks. Expand

I so want to like this game… it still feels unpolished in August 21. There have been improvements. I just fear that this game is forever a dud.

I really wanted to like this game. It just took way to long to get started and some of the gameplay was tedious and seemingly pointless.

It seemed like they wanted to avoid cut scenes by having you surveil people, except that just wasn't fun. And since stuff was just happening around me, often times I'd be looking the wrong way and would miss stuff that was going on. And I have

And I have played a ton of FPS but this one just had the worst controls. Driving was awful. I felt like I was back in the 90s shooters and they were just figuring out this stuff.

After 24+ hours of gameplay, It’s not the RPG that was billed to the consumer. It is a decent linear story that plays out in an open world environment. Most dialogue choices funnel in the same direction with little influence. V’s personality is already clearly defined with little room for the Player to be what they desire. The NPCs only act as set pieces, reciting the same one liners and crouching in identical positions when the player does anything violent. They drive in pathways that are painfully obvious and simply stop whenever there are any obstacles. Almost everything can be cheesed with stealth and de-aggroing. Many simple objects like chairs and machines are inaccessible, not even allowing for the player to participate in the world unless given a prompt from a mission. The immersion is just not there. I personally can handle bugs and crashes, but I dislike that this game was sold as something it isn’t.

I've crashed more in Cyberpunk then any other game in the last two decades.
There is a good game in there somewhere. The setting and mechanics are interesting. But Cyberpunk suffers from horrible performance. Like really horrible, the view distance, fps, npcs and cars loading infront of you, the radio freezing the game everytime you bring it up.

They lied when they said it played great.

The Cyberpunk 2077 is raw, unpolished and bugged as hell. The more I play — the more broken quests, "silent" dialogues and other technical issues I get. I was sending bug reports and suggestions to the CDPR support since release, but I haven't got any replies. Zero. Not even automatic ones, so I don't know if they even check them or no. There are no answers, there are no patches, there is no roadmap. The day-one patch arrived on GOG later than on other platforms and after that only two useless "hotfixes" were released (it didn't fix anything for me). No real patches for a month, no new hotfixes for weeks. The Russian localization is terrible and Galaxy client resetting the language preferences every time I launch the game. (There is no such problem on other stores). And the client still crashes ten times per day.

I've heard a lot of complaints about optimization, but at least I don't have any significant problems on that front despite some minor fps drops and object popping. Though I've built my PC especially for Cyberpunk and my TV supports only 1080p resolution at 60fps which is likely the main reason I’ve got an ok performance.

GOG/CDPR stuff keep ignoring all problems with Cyberpunk and Galaxy launcher, but this isn't the only problem they prefer to turn a blind eye for. Some of you may know that they decided to cancel the long-awaited release of an indie game Devotion on GOG to please some Chinese bots. They've slaughtered the game without any reasons (the little placeholder with the hurtless joke was completely removed from the game years ago). And the main problem in this situation that GOG staff answered on Twitter bot messages within a few hours by fully cancelling the promised release not only for China but for the rest of the world too. At the same time, they keep ignoring thousands of their own customers for weeks. They’ve just silently deleted the announcement and cancellation posts without any official statement/explanation/comment, ignoring all questions and support tickets about their decision. Just check the GOG’s Community Wishlist — it is the most requested game of December and January. This is just another sign that GOG/CDPR changed their policy from being pro-customer to being pro-money. It isn't the first call, but it can be the last one for many loyal customers. Censorship can't be tolerated, especially political censorship — I'm sick of this **** in my everyday life.

So, after all of this, I’ve got really disappointed. I tend to buy way more games than I have time to play. And I prefer playing on another platform, but I used to buy second copies of the games I like on GOG only because I liked it's policy, customer-oriented service and wanted to support my favourite devs. But this isn't the thing anymore. I haven't even played 99% of the games I've bought on GOG, so, I've tried to request a refund for them. And they refused.

GOG support has finally answered on my ticket. First of all, they've completely ignored all my questions about Devotion. Secondly, they've refused to refund anything (not a single game from 340+ in my library!) They've also refused to comment on the bugs and estimated release of next patch for Cyberpunk 2077. (They've told me to contact "CDPR official channels" that haven't answered to support tickets in a month). Finally, they've refused to partly refund my physical copy of Cyberpunk 2077 so I could get the Steam version instead (I don't want to be forced to buy future addons on GOG and use their broken launcher anymore). They've told me that I should refund my physical collector's edition where I've bought it. But it isn't possible after you've opened the box and used the activation code. Well, I will be waiting for heavily discounted GOTY/Director's Cut/Enhanced edition on other platforms then.

I was supporting and advertising GOG for years. I've bought all CDPR games on release, including collector's editions and versions for different platforms (not to mention figurines and tons of other merch). I didn't expect that these companies’ management will start to wipe their feet on its loyal customers. I’ve missed the moment when they turned into EA/Activision siblings, but as far as history shows — it's the one-way road in this industry.

This is the last game I've bought on GOG. In the current state, I can't recommend it to anyone, nor I can recommend this platform anymore. I'm disgusted by GOG/CDPR recent actions and their new priorities. I'm disappointed by the way they've decided to handle situations around failed Cyberpunk launch and Devotion censorship. Their reaction (the lack of it) on customers' feedback is a disgrace and I regret supporting them so much…

Cyberpunk 2077 is a flawed but captivating open-world RPG rife with conflict and deranged beauty. What the Stadia version lacks in the advanced bells and whistles of its PC counterpart, like raytracing and reliable 4K, it more than makes up for in accessibility and smooth performance across a variety of devices. Not to mention it still looks great too.
