Dec 19, 2010Ys has had a bumpy history in the U.S., but if this is an indication of how good the series can be, I hope it's here to stay.

Dec 20, 2010All in all, Ys: The Oath in Felghana is highly enjoyable, entertaining and one of the toughest rides in recent history.
-
Dec 22, 2010Ys: The Oath in Felghana is another incredibly strong entry in the series, and it's a great option for PSP owners looking for an RPG fix.
-
Dec 22, 2010No prior knowledge of the series is required to jump into Oath in Felghana, though a fondness for 16-bit-era RPGs helps.
-
Dec 22, 2010Ys: The Oath in Felghana is a fun game, and it's worth the purchase for any Ys fan, if simply for the included soundtrack.
-
Dec 22, 2010In taking away the screens and screens of dialog and the need to manage an overcrowded inventory or complex skill point system it boils itself down into the essence of what a good action RPG and portable title should be: tight controls, a well told story and the ability to get in, smack some monsters around and get out.
-
Dec 19, 2010Despite its flaws, The Oath in Felghana is the perfect game for the PSP. Enjoyable combat and dungeon crawling is its own reward.
-
Dec 22, 2010Ys: The Oath in Felghana is a fun action RPG.
-
Jan 10, 2011The self-contained story works perfectly and even if you didn't have the opportunity to play any other entry in the franchise, you can jump into this and still manage to have a fun and challenging adventure.
-
Apr 24, 2012If you're in the market for a hard, oldschool and action-filled JRPG, look no further than the latest chapter of Ys.

-
Dec 22, 2010It's solid proof that sometimes a game doesn't have to be overly complex and innovative to be great -- if it has solid fundamentals and executes them well, you'll still have an excellent product.
-
Dec 19, 2010The game itself is quite lengthy (as any good RPG should be), and once you beat the last boss you can unlock a special game plus mode with additional challenges.
-
Dec 19, 2010It's a punchy, fulfilling game that takes you to plenty of cool places and does a lot of basic things right.
-
Dec 22, 2010Oath in Felghana is easily consumed without feeling disposable.
-
Mar 15, 2011Ys: The Oath in Felghana has a lot of qualities. Some issues and its peculiar gameplay, make it a niche game.
-
Jan 1, 2011However, anyone who loves games like Zelda and Alundra would be well advised to give Oath in Felghana a shot. Falcom isn't trying to reinvent the wheel with these games-they're more interested in refining it to the point where it rolls even more smoothly than before.
-
Dec 19, 2010Adol the Red has some trouble finding his footing, but his sword remains true in this remake of an Ys classic.
-
Feb 11, 2011For RPG fans craving a more Zelda-like adventure, Oath in Felghana is a really good bet. Just don't be a hero and shoot for Nightmare mode on your first play-through. Save your sanity and start with normal.
-
Dec 22, 2010This game cuts right to the heart of the matter. Ys: The Oath in Felghana is a fun, albeit simple, ride from beginning to end.
-
Dec 19, 2010Yeah, it's tough going at times, and the game doesn't possess the kind of deep RPG battle system that most folks prefer. But The Oath In Felghana is still a fine entry in the Y's series, and well worth the investment for the next time you're stuck on a long road trip.
-
Dec 19, 2010Ys: The Oath in Felghana is one of those games that fits perfectly on to a handheld system. Its balls to the wall game combat is wonderfully complimented with a simple item and upgrade system. Running in unison with the game is a great soundtrack and a minimalistic story, which in this case is not a bad thing.
