Orochi's one of the most polished of the recent Warriors games.
-
As a port of the full game, however, it is a triumph, packing a ridiculously huge amount of content into a humble UMD.
-
Repetitive gameplay aside, the game’s few flaws don’t take away from the action or cool options. This is strictly for the fans.
-
No-frills action makes Warriors Orochi a decent portable experience, especially with co-op multiplayer and the promise of hours and hours of enjoyable - if similar - gameplay.
-
The developers have gotten this design down, but a complete lack of innovation and some poorly implemented features cripples Warriors Orochi.
-
This is a simple hack-and-slash game. By its very nature it's repetitive. By hinting at more depth with weapon upgrades, 79 playable and combinable characters with upgradable attributes, and a two-player mode, I think it's the developer's responsibility to fully realize these features and implement them in the gameplay. Otherwise don't tease us.
-
All the typical problems of repetition, poor story, below average graphics and awful voice acting return once again, but the renowned Warriors button-mashing seems more fitted to quick, portable gaming sessions.
-
Official Playstation 2 Magazine UKHopelessly repetitive and only offers the same amount of cheap thrills as every other Dynasty Warriors type game. [July 2008, p.90]
-
If you've loved the Warriors games in the past, then I wholeheartedly recommend Warriors Orochi. It has all the hack-n-slash action that fans of the series want, with the add convenience of portability.
-
Playstation: The Official Magazine (US)Just a solid port of an unremarkable brawler. [June 2008, p.75]
-
Warriors Orochi isn’t a bad game since it is another angle on the same Koei-based hack-and-slash games they have been working on for over a decade now. There are also some new things brought to the table, but the gameplay experience is becoming tiring.
-
First and foremost, Warriors Orochi PSP is a game aimed at fans, and only then for a few other players.

Feb 17, 2023It's great. It's the best game I've ever seen. The picture is exquisite, the movement is smooth, and the design is exquisite.
