Virtua Tennis 3 is fine fun for even the uninitiated. Not only did I have a good time playing through the cornucopia of kooky minigames, but I also came out with a firmer knowledge and appreciation for tennis itself.
-
Exceptional tennis game whose combination of exquisite control and alluring content results in one of the most rewarding sporting experiences around.
-
Play UKThe new mini-games are a blast though, and we can't overly punish what is still the best tennis experience out there. [Issue#152, p.82]
-
Multiplayer has always been Virtua Tennis' strongest aspect, but you'll be disappointed to know that VT3 only supports 4 players via Ad-Hoc/LAN, as opposed to infrastructure/online.
-
Games Master UKThere's nothing better for a quick sporing blast on PSP. [May 2007, p.78]
-
Official Playstation 2 Magazine UKA lack of realism does nothing to dampen the sheer fun and depth of play behind Virtua Tennis 3. It's, ahem, ace. [Apr 2007, p.95]
-
Stellar controls (analog or D-pad) and excellent competitions among virtual versions of real-life tennis players. The sport is presented very realistically, but not so much that it can’t produce a little fantasy.
-
PSM3 Magazine UKDespite the niggles, this is still the usual brilliance. [May 2007, p.79]
-
The game is as close to Pong as the London Philharmonic Orchestra is to a caveman banging a rudimentary drum, and continuing that analogy, Virtua Tennis 3 is just as primal and instinctive as its most ancient of relatives.
-
This is the best tennis game on the PSP, but it’s not much improved over last year’s title. Only serious tennis fans and those who don’t already own "Virtua Tennis: World Tour" should bother with this one.
-
There's no doubt that it's a strong pickup for casual sports fans or dedicated SEGAphies, but for those of us who played its predecessors, it may be a little too familiar.
-
As a further refined version of Virtua Tennis: World Tour, this game is easily the best available for any handheld system. But having said that, it may not be enough of a difference for fans of the last game to part with their money.
-
When looking at this strictly from a playability sense, this game's easy to learn and fun to master.
-
Virtua Tennis 3 is a good game, but it plays a little too much like "Virtua Tennis: World Tour."
-
Playstation Official Magazine UKIt can't quite live up the the standard set by its more playable big brother. [May 2007, p.108]
-
A very playable tennis game if you don't already own "World Tour."
-
Virtua Tennis 3 is very similar to "World Tour," so the game is only really recommended for those who didn't pick up the first title on launch.
