Remix doesn’t offer the new gameplay experience I was hoping for, and if felt like I was just going through the motions all over again, but now with my hands constantly cramping up on me.
-
Cheat Code CentralFrom the graphics to the tight controls and the 50-plus song titles, Underground 2 Remix is hands down the most powerful game ever displayed on a handheld. The fact that it so closely resembles the PS2 version is not just impressive but disappointing. Most of us have already played this game to death.
-
Edge MagazineTHUG 2 Remix stand straight and tall, offering the series’ trademark open-ended combo blitzing in the form of a solid repackaging, albeit one that’s more a testament to the PSP’s potential rather than a true exploitation of it. [June 2005, p.94]
-
This is by no means the definitive Tony Hawk, but if you’re yet to play THUG 2, it’s certainly a solid enough arena to start.
-
It's still fun in spurts, but on the whole it doesn't keep interest for very long because most of us have been there before – some of us 6 times now.
-
The analog stick is a bit confusing. During gameplay, it’s used to rotate the camera while on your board, and used to control the player when you’re off the board. During WiFi play, you can’t rotate the camera at all because it’s only used for controlling your character. This becomes quite confusing.
-
games(TM)Above all, Remix suffers from many of the same issues that ail all but the PS2 versions of the Tony Hawk’s games - there just aren’t enough buttons. [July 2005, p.110]
-
Pelaaja (Finland)PSP’s own version of THUG 2 is almost identical to the PS2 version. The graphics have suffered very little and the possibility to make your own skate parks is omitted. Otherwise, it’s basically the same game as on the PS2. [Sept 2005, p.69]
