All menus are so unbearably ugly as well as most of the cut scenes ... first locations are total mess with blurry tekstures and generic environment. But there are some nice looking planets as well. Controls are painful especially when you need to consistently change your weapons from menus. There are some good parts that kept me going through the game but honestly overall it's pretty average game. Expand

I loved this game for the PSP. Probably my favorite PSP game. The only thing that keeps me from giving it a 10 out of 10 is replayability. It feels like once you beat it you beat it.

Expand

It’s really good game, good story, good mechanics, good controls, and you can have a lot of fun with this game, the only issue that I have is... the story is too short, I completed the game in 5 hours. But the game is really good and I recommend it.

Expand

The controlls in this game was fine but the problem was the camera sometimes gets stuck on stuff and sometimes it was movin by itself.

The weapons are fine aswell. But there are alot of moments where Boss fights are too strong and the weapons barely do any damage and u constanly need to buy ammo.
Ur pretty much screwed without the PDA

Clank section didn't use all the stuff the Gadgetbots use...u notice that u never use the "Enterin" Command for the Gadgetbots.

There wasn't one situation that i ever used the Heli Pack other then Glidin down somewhere.

This was a good start for R&C on the go. It's not as good as the ones before it, but at the time (before the first trilogy was released on the Vita) it was decent. It is a bit hard for an R&C game, but it's still fun to play.

The result? Well, let's just say it's mixed. I will say that for PSP standards, the gameplay works well for the most part. And the art style and sound design, it is all true blue Ratchet and Clank, no doubt about it. However, it's Ratchet and Clank at a lower budget, and that harms it a little bit. Size Matters will never be as good as it's console counterparts. Partly because of the limits of the PSP, partly because it was created by a mediocre developer, that being High Impact Games. Though the art design, sound design, atmosphere, and base gameplay ideas are how I like my Ratchet, the things I like about this game stop there. The writing feels a lot more childish in this game, and it makes me feel like the developers had the wrong idea about the game's audience, but their hearts were in the right places so I will give them that much. The gadgets this time around aren't as fun to use either. In fact when I get to parts where I have to use them, it often feels intrusive which is never a good thing. Difficulty feels unbalanced as well. You will die a lot, especially towards the end, and more often or not you will feel like your deaths will have been cheap. You have to fidget a lot more to get your bearings on what you want to do and it's a little annoying. The wrench is near useless in combat. It doesn't have as much of a reach, and doesn't even knock many enemies back. Often times, attempt at meleing will end with your fuzzy arse splattered across the alien soil. Your weapons also don't pack as much of a punch as they used to. The place where Size Matters really shines the most is it's platforming. Level design is actually quite creative and traversal, when gimmicks aren't getting in the way, is exactly on par with what I want from a Ratchet game. I enjoy exploring, it just sucks that when I have to do combat, my reaction is less than thrilled, because it's just not as fun. Something I did find interesting though was the way armor works. You find different pieces around levels that you can mix and match. Different combinations yield different aesthetic looks and levels of damage reduction, and matching together a whole suit of armor will give you a perk. The perk may help you out once or twice, but it never really proves very useful. There are a few mini games too, some of which are mandatory. None of which are any fun. I hated the skyboarding sections. And completionists will hate that some skill points are tied to these annoying ass mini games. And there are quite a few performance bugs to look out for. But they are far worse in the PS2 port. Nanotech leveling is still a thing. So are weapon upgrades and challenge mode (though with how broken the difficulty is against the player, it's just not fun to play through in challenge mode) Size Matters does a few things right. It is definitely one of the best looking PSP games. It has the key ideas of a good Ratchet and Clank game. It's just awkward in it's execution and the game suffers for it. Despite my bashing of the game here, it's biggest core gameplay flaws really don't start rearing their ugly heads until challenge mode. Steer clear of that, and Size Matters is still an average hand held Ratchet and Clank experience, even with the hiccups it has. If nothing else, the novelty of owning a Ratchet game on PSP makes it worth owning I guess. 7/10. Expand

Size Matters, whilst not on the level of the Ratchet and Clank series games, is a fun game to play and one of the best PSP games to date. The arena mode is particularly enjoyable and is perhaps even an improvement on such aspects seen in earlier games.

What a god damn awful game! The controls are clunky, the camera is awkward most of the time, the enemies are bullet sponges, and all boss fights are based on that as well -- it takes a stupid amount of ammo and time to drain their health -- so little to no actual challenge.

Of course, this is to be expected with a handheld game. However, the lack of an arena and a second joystick really hurt this game in the longrun. You get used to using L and R for the camera after a while, but the lack of an arena gives you little reason besides Challenge Mode to come back to this 5-8 hour experience.

Of course, Ad Hoc multiplayer is available, and there are lots of nifty Clank mini games, along with a lot of cool RPG elements that aren't in the console games.

The gameplay, the combat, even the visual style is all there. All the voice actors you know and love make a return, and the cutscenes are nice too. Unfortunately, it's obvious the game wasn't developed by Insomiac as the characters don't have their usual mannerisms and personalities, and feel more like rushed emulations of Insomniacs creations. Quark is a particular example of this, being a whiney, pathetic oaf throughout the whole game. None of the selfishness, none of the dastardly schemes, just a big baby in a green suit. In addition, the weapons lack their usual creativity, and the balancing is terrible. In other words, you can empty all of your ammo in a level 5 weapon from the start of the game into an enemy at the end, and they won't die, meaning old weapons become quickly useless. Only about 2, maybe 3 of the games weapons are useful against the final boss who is a massive damage sink, unfortunately a trend which all of the games bosses follow, large health pools and hastily thrown together mechanics. Despite everything however, Size Matters is an enjoyable title and (sadly) part of the canon, and is worth playing one way or another. It's a tad shorter than it's big brothers, but still makes for a fun outing, even if the plot, characters and overall themes make you gag once in a while. Final Score: 6.2/10 Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I've been a fan of Ratchet and Clank since the original released back in the PS2 era, While the camera angles weren't great and the weapon mechanics were broken, it was still an epic game with groundbreaking features!

Size Matters on the other hand is a uncomfortable to play, it's easy at first, but the controls, awkward aiming mechanics and horrid camera control will drive you through the roof, While the game itself has an interesting story and fun platfroming gameplay, you will spend most of your time repeating a previous part of the level because you died falling from a platform you couldn't see or fell out of the arena on boss stages(Which BTW restarts the entire boss) Then we get to the combat mechanics, they simply aren't as up to scratch as the rest of the game and really let it down, for example; there is an enemy that takes 4 hits to kill, you shoot him 4 times, he doesnt die; as the enemy won't take damage until he has finished the flinch animation from your previous attack meaning it gets incredibly tedious trying to kill these enemies and incredibly frustrating when 5 of them swarm you and it seems like it takes forever to kill them all.

Then the weapon usage, while you can strafe, it feels incredibly awkward to do so as you have to use the d-pad instead of a desperately needed second stick, which just mind-screws you if you've ever played the PS2 games, The aiming consists of pointing in their direction and spamming Circle, only 3 guns aim and only one gun feels as if it's even effective(The first one) and sometimes the game PREVENTS YOU FROM STRAFING; Why? a core mechanic that makes the aiming much easier, why just take it off us at random times, on the bits where it's stripped,l you will find yourself repaying that section even more.

Then there is the "Filler" mini games that are forced just to waste time, most of the time they are really unfair and just rediculous, as to make the game last longer, but these are completely unnecesary and really feel like a filler for the already short game

All this combined with the PSP GO's controls is complete hell, While this game has serious potential it will cause you to utter more swear words than a game like Ghosts and Golbins will, which is really bad, considering this is a flagship Sony series.

In conclusion you will spend more time fighting the controls than you will enemies, I will try the PS2 port eventually hopefully it's better than this.
