PES has its personality and the basic act of playing the game is still enjoyable enough, but this is a series that desperately needs a complete overhaul.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 is a quiet good game in terms of variety and quantity. Although, it lacks in quality, because there are too many situations needing some corrections. It’s all in the right place, we simply have seen it before in that same place.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 features a couple of new game modes, but things are still largely unchanged in Konami's football franchise.

Though the inclusion of new features is something the series has drastically needed, online features lack depth and Become a Legend is spoiled by frustrating A.I. teammates.

One the series' die-hards only. Everyone else should bite the bullet and accept that for this season at least, FIFA's leagues ahead.
