Game InformerNCAA at home or on the go? Now you can truly run the option. [Sept. 2006, p.100]
-
The atmosphere and enthusiasm that the game portrays are remarkable, especially for a portable title.
-
Even with the crippling "running bug" I had a much more enjoyable time playing NCAA Football 07 on the PSP. Of course my style of play favors the passing play so ground yards aren’t a big deal with me. If you like to run the ball you might want to wait for the patch or just play on another system.
-
NCAA Football 07 works very well on the PSP, and controls flawlessly without some of the analog-stick issues that have plagued other games on the platform.
-
Two-player Wi-Fi games are fun, but there's no true online play or career mode. So while you do get all the stats and most of the gameplay, there's none of the pizzazz of the consoles. It's a compromise, but it works.
-
This is a very densely detailed college ball game, and one that you'll be hard pressed to drop, even when Madden shows its face later this year.
-
PSM MagazineNCAA Football 2007 for the PSP is a faithful port of the PS2 version, right down to the metal cleats and fan meter. [Sep 2006, p.83]
-
NCAA Football 07 doesn't have the bells and whistles of the console game; instead, it just plays a solid game of collegiate pigskin.
-
Even the PSP version is online, but there is some noticeable lag with the game, but it really doesn’t kill the gameplay at all.
-
And as much as we wish the whole thing was bigger, stronger and faster, we’re happy with it just the way it is and recommend recruiting it for your PSP collection.
-
The unfortunate choice to leave out mini-games, the great Campus Legend mode and some extra goodies is upsetting but what we have here is a football game that doesn’t disappoint when it comes to the college football scene.
-
Mixed with all of the elements that made the PS2 games successes, NCAA Football 2007 for the PSP is a fun hybrid to waste time with while on-the-go, despite some control issues and a serious error in the running game.
-
Official U.S. Playstation MagazineLoad times and controls are excellent by PSP standards. [Sept 2006, p.85; Score corrected in Oct issue]
-
Unfortunately, the inaccurate yardage tracking basically removes the running game, and makes this year's NCAA Football a title only for players who like to air the ball out.
-
netjakThe core gameplay is enjoyable enough, and would be more so if it weren't for the run marking bug, but there is little about the game that makes it seem designed for a handheld platform.
-
Online play via infrastructure also feels a little broken, with some frustrating lags and glitches also coming into play during a game.
