A decent game that's best played in the story "Life" mode.

After three years it is my honest opinion that Sony’s series needs a shot in the arm to take it to a new level as there are still some computer AI issues that need to be worked out.

In practice, it’s a forgettable game that offers less than its competition. Instead of taking an evolutionary step up from last year’s version of The Life, the game is content to shovel out more of the same.

As much as I wanted to like it, I couldn’t recommend NBA ’07 to any of you out there, especially if you’re interested in actually playing basketball.

Despite the game’s many faults, however, it’s a hell of a lot of fun to play the Conquest mode, and that coupled with the mini-games offer enough value to make it a worthwhile purchase as it’ll stay in your PSP for a long time to come.

Despite some innovative new modes, it's how a game plays that matters most, and it's here where NBA 07 fails to grow. Thus, its appeal has shrunk. Either switch over to "Live 07," or keep your old "NBA 06" UMD close at hand.

Whoever was in charge of programming the AI fell asleep at the wheel. The computer is at time[s] such an unholy bastard that playing against it makes me want slam my PSP against a wall. The AI will do whatever is necessary to make sure that you lose.

In the final analysis, the Conquest Mode alone helps turn NBA 07 from a lottery pick into an 8th seed - good enough to make the playoffs but far too flawed for a run for the title.

Behind all of the minigames and new play modes, you'll find the same old problematic gameplay.

If NBA 07 didn't have such a horrid problem with blocks making every shot a risk no matter who is guarding, the game might have turned out better.

It may not be perfect, but NBA 07 offers a respectful game of b-ball on the PSP.
