Don't let the 8 rating I gave it fool you. I love this game. I love motorcycles and try not to miss a real motogp race on tv and that's the cool thing with this game. It uses the real tracks that the real riders use. Game play is fun, you dont have total control over the bikes and riders like on the xbox or playstation but if you like racing games and have a PSP, you need this one.

Fantastic game, best racing game on the PSP for sure, graphically its a masterpiece, the controls are difficult but then this is Moto GP not bubble karts...true racing simulation with an amazing replay mode that allows you to rotate your view and everything, the sounds are surrounding and tremendous, having played many a PSP racing game, this is the first to completely captivate Fantastic game, best racing game on the PSP for sure, graphically its a masterpiece, the controls are difficult but then this is Moto GP not bubble karts...true racing simulation with an amazing replay mode that allows you to rotate your view and everything, the sounds are surrounding and tremendous, having played many a PSP racing game, this is the first to completely captivate me...better handling and all round experience than any of the other versions....HIGHLY RECOMMENDED 10/10 Expand

Only 8 of the tracks from the Moto GP season is a real cop-out. Especially when some of the best tracks were left out.

I know nothing of motorcycle racing or how motorcycles handle in the real world, but I was looking for a fun, easy-to-play, and good-looking racing game and MotoGP easily fits that bill. The graphics still hold up quite well and they put you right into the action; you definitely get a sense of speed in this game, even on the small screen of a PSP Go. The graphics still hold up quite well and they put you right into the action; you definitely get a sense of speed in this game, even on the small screen of a PSP Go. The game sounds really good as well, and you’re given a nice variety of music to go along with your gameplay if you so choose. Speaking of gameplay, the controls are what make this game fun to play. There’s a little learning curve to get a handle on when to brake going into a corner, but it becomes second nature after a few laps. The good news is the controls are not intimidating. The PSP version tends to fall more into the “arcade-style” of controls, so you don’t have to worry about dumping your bike or flinging yourself off the bike like you do on the Vita versions (MotoGP 13 and 14) which tend to be more on the simulation side of things. For a handheld game, I appreciate the pick up and play/arcade’y aspect more than a true to form simulation which tend to have steep learning curves and can lead to a frustrating experience. No frustration here as the game is just fun to play! What holds it back a bit is the limited number of tracks. Only 8 tracks in total, so the lack of variety will be noticeable if you play for an extended amount of time. As others have mentioned, the AI is truly robotic where they just seem to run on rails the entire time. I haven’t noticed any of them trying to block me or retaliate in any way, so that could be a positive or a negative depending on how you look at it. But, as a non-fan of motorcycle racing, this game is truly a good and fun experience and one I find myself coming back to over and over again when I’m craving some quick racing action! Expand

  1. MotoGP is a good technical racing game, but the small selection of tracks and rigid artificial intelligence take some of the variety and excitement out of it.
  2. Slippery controls, lackluster multiplayer and just "ok" content make this a game that only the most dedicated will be interested in.
  3. It would be nice to see a season mode as robust as the most recent PS2 version of MotoGP, but as portable games go, what's offered here is sufficient for decent racing action on the go.
