    I can only tell you that the game isn’t for me, but it might be for you. If it is, it’s probably the best value PSP game ever released. If it isn’t, then it’s a slow, mind-numbing exercise in masochism.

    Unite doesn’t offer the kind of transformation at its higher levels that you might expect – the essential purpose is the same throughout: kill monsters, craft new shin pads out of dino-bladders, and swap your pig’s wings for a magician’s hat. Nonetheless, these simple motivations give way to a huge depth of execution which empowers and requires four players.

    As a hack-n-slasher, Monster Hunter Freedom Unite has a ton of replay value, depth and challenge. However, the steep learning curve and the fact that combat becomes repetitive after a while, make that this game isn't for everyone. The lack of online multiplayer is a miss as well.

    To grade a game like this is as difficult as it is irrelevant. The appeal of this game is solely based upon you personal preferences in games. If you're into fast paced action games this not a title for you. If you're into intricate battles and spending obscene amounts of hours collecting loot this is definitely well spent money on your behalf. Played solo this is passable but when played in multiplayer with friends this is as close to a portable MMO as you'll get.

    There are over 400 missions, which is insanely impressive and the depth of the weapon and armor customization is ridiculously. But in the end, all that content feels kind of wasted due to the horrible camera and lackluster combat.

In your quest, you are tasked with both defeating hulking beasts and collecting resources to be used for doing so. Monster Hunter has deep game-play and the weapon you choose greatly effects how things will play out. Each weapon totally changes how the game plays and what you will need to take with you. This game may have a steep learning curve, but as soon as you overcome the difficulty, you will find this game to be both an excellent purchase and a heap of fun. This game is widely based around co-op (See 'Unite' in title) and becomes a lot more fun if you played with 1-3 friends, The solo play is very fun, but the game truly shines in co-op.… Full Review »

    sort of hard for a casual gamer to pick up and play. a hardcore gamer shouldn't have any trouble beating it.

    the monster quests are a little repetitive at times, and you will have to repeat certain quests to get farther in the game. the combat is really action packed and fun, and the monsters are ridiculously challenging sometimes.the feeling you get after killing a hard monster is like nothing in any other game i have played.    … Full Review »

    MHFU was a great game at first. But it too quickly becomes extremely repetitive. Most of the creatures you fight are a little too similar andMHFU was a great game at first. Most of the creatures you fight are a little too similar and since you can't level up, your only option is to get more powerful equipment which can take tons of grinding the same missions over and over.
