Metal Slug XX is a decent game, the gameplay is the same as The Metal Slug Anthology. The graphics are a little improved. The game feels too easy and its also to short. Their are 6 playable characters and 7 playable missions, but the design of the levels feels like they rushed them and in return they made an okay game, it could've been much better.

If you are a fan of the Metal Slug series then you will have already bought this game by now, for everyone else, I would recommend it if:

I gave it a 7 as at retail £20 could be too high, though I looked online and got it for less than £12 which represents great value for money.

A solid entry into the series. The levels are very well designed, while they require some memorisation, they still leave enough room for some improvisation. Besides the standard arcade mode. The game also offers the combat school mode. Combat School consists of a set of challenges a player may undertake to improve his skills at the game and while doing so earn some rewards and unlockables.

Its fun like classic metal slug style like 1 2 X

Since 1997 from the first metal slug i was a old school player of this game, am not fan but the game is real fun, but a worst in this game is that each sequel is getting more harder to the impossible level since metal slug X the fun was over because the other sequel is very very hard and that not fun in my opinion. metal slug xx is fun

Easily the worst, most uninspired metal slug so far. Some ugly, blurry backgrounds coupled with nothing new, a botched "remake" job that has it's sprites occasionally be a wrong color with some boring as hell levels that feel they were outsourced to some random dolts. The bosses are easily this game's best feature with their lively appereances, sporting all sorts of surprises and mostly great designs. (being everything the rest of the game isn't.) This "enhanced" version of metal slug 7 adds the worst metal slug announcer (personally) only slightly updated backgrounds that still look like ass, 3 alternate paths with only 1 being clearly visible, and an OP waifu. Don't bother playing unless you want to try the bosses yourself or you're *that* starved for more metal slug, this game should've just been a boss rush. Expand

Another entry in the ubiquitous run and gun platform series, the format actually works pretty well on the PSP. Nice cartoony graphics, humorous and with a big variety of big guns and bad guys to blast. A little old fashioned but retro gamers will lap it up.

  1. As elaborated as it can be, Metal Slug XX hardly stands out from the previous episodes of the saga, because of the lack of this sense of madness that made us ride some cyber-mammoths once.
  2. Exactly the same we've been playing for the last fourteen years. The Metal Slug series really need some innovation as soon as possible.
  3. If you're a Metal Slug fan/PSP owner who hasn't had a way to play this entry in the series before, XX is worth checking out. It's a tough recommendation for everyone else.
