Ghostbusters: The Videogame isn’t a bad game, but had more potential. Empty levels, ghosts that move too fast for the psp to move along and the sound show the symptoms of an average port. The gameplay itself is rather varied and the cutscenes are wonderful. Too bad the PSP didn’t get its own version of the game.
-
Disappointing when compared to the PS3 version and even other PSP games. Could have bee a lot better.
-
At the end of the day, Ghostbusters for PSP isn't a bad game but seems like a bit more work would have helped push this over the thresh hold.
-
The controls aren’t engaging, the environments are too simple, the whole package could look better, and so on. It’s not broken or a bad game, but it’s just not a worthwhile experience for the portable.
-
Ghostbusters is a really boring game, with just a little of fan service. Visuals hiccups, environment poor of details, and to repetitive gameplay. If you can choose, should go on next-gen versions, this porting is very bad.
-
Play UKJust a bit buggered. [Issue#188, p.82]
-
Ghostbusters on PSP doesn't look, sound, or play very well and is best passed up for a home console version.
-
AceGamezAs a third-person-shooter on the PSP, Ghostbusters The Video Game is a distinctly average offering.
-
A mediocre port of a merely decent original entry, resulting in a functional but hardly enticing take on the series. PSP action fans are probably used to this second-class status by now, but this one's strictly for the franchise die-hards.
-
BoomtownSure, it's got a decent enough Ghostbusters style, but with a game that really lacks any polish at all, screams bugs at you, and has the most ridiculously long loading times, even from sleep mode, it's a terrible port of the PS2 and Wii versions of the game... and they were a poor man's version of the PS3/360 editions anyway.
-
Playstation: The Official Magazine (US)On PSP, it's a half-baked port of the already stripped-down PS2 version. [Jan 2010, p.86]
-
We should’ve known that Ghostbusters on the PSP wouldn’t be up to the standards of the console version. But the concessions are made in all the wrong area’s. The cartoon-like looks make the nostalgic feelings disappear and the ghost hunting is plain boring. A bad port of the PS2-version, which in itself was a bad enough port.
-
The PlayStation 3 version of Ghostbusters is a pretty solid game. This portable version is a very poor adaption with crappy controls, bad audio and bad graphics. If you haven’t played one of these versions, just go for the PlayStation 3 version, it’s a lot better.
