It's their season: FIFA 07 is the best portable football sim to date bar none.
-
Pure Magazine UKA really smart improvement that puts this game top of the football league.
-
The PSP version of the game is a faithful adaptation of the console versions, which is to say, very fun.
-
There were a handful of drawbacks – most notably the lack of some teams and absence of a team or player creation mode – but overall this is great fun.
-
While the effort to imitate the best elements of Winning Eleven is obvious, EA does its own fair share of innovation with some great long-pall passing, jostling and PS2 connectivity.
-
Play UKAt times defending can be a frustrating affair owing mainly to some inept AI defending. [Issue #147, p.89]
-
Hands down, FIFA 07 is one of the best PSP sports titles of the year. Its content can’t be beat. The controls are top-notch, bridging the gap between console and handheld gameplay.
-
AceGamezIf your love for the beautiful game is still as strong as ever or if you've never played a football game before and are looking for a PSP game to quench your budding thirst for footie, then FIFA 07 is as good a place to start as any.
-
Even with the hypersensitive shot controls, we think this year’s FIFA may match up evenly with Konami’s latest counterpart, due out later this fall (we hear your cries of blasphemy, "Winning Eleven" fanatics - you'll get the chance to prove us wrong).
-
Official Playstation 2 Magazine UKThe most complete football sim in handheld format. It's irrelevant if you already own the PS2 version, though. [Dec 2006, p.105]
-
Games Master UKVery impressive, exciting and dynamic portable footy. [Christmas 2006, p.100]
-
PSM3 Magazine UKIt still feels clunky and rather robotic. [Dec 2006, p.96]
-
This year it's pushed farther than it has ever before by "borrowing" from Winning Eleven. As a handheld, it holds up over time -- but we can't help but to hold our breath to see Winning Eleven head-butt back on the PSP.
-
FIFA 07 plays an enjoyable game of soccer, but it feels unfinished in places and isn't as easy to recommend as its home-console counterparts.
-
It's fair to say that this is probably the best handheld football game available and certainly in the top two or three in anyone's book. However, compared with the home versions, this feels poor, like they knew the PSP version couldn't be as good so they didn't bother trying.

JoseH.Apr 11, 2007It's a shame the existing of the CRASH BUGS. Otherwise we would have in hands, the best soccer game ever... definitely!
