Official U.S. Playstation MagazineSome will find this as addictive as "Lumines", but due to the increased difficulty level and lack of accessibility, Every Extend Extra lacks the broad appeal of Q Entertainment's prior titles. [Nov, 2006, p.124]
-
Though unequivocally fun, this release doesn't have "Lumines'" more cerebral underpinnings to fall back on, so the lack of truly differentiated game modes hurts its longevity - especially because most players will need considerable practice before getting more than a level or two in.
-
Much like "Lumines," however, Every Extend Extra rides the line between flash and total sensory overload, with flashing colors, oversaturated backgrounds and that omnipresent musical accompaniment. It can almost be too much at times. But the concoction works, if only for the relatively short play time.
-
Official Playstation 2 Magazine UKA stylish shooter that will be compared to "Lumines" - but unfortunately can't hold a candle to it in the puzzle stakes. [Christmas 2006, p.101]
-
Playstation Official Magazine UKThe striking visuals and varied soundtrack can't change the fact that every level is essentially the same. [Mar 2007, p.112]
-
AceGamezThe fact that it's relatively short and complimented by weak visuals and mixed audio detracts from the experience, sure, but the gameplay manages to prevail nonetheless, eventually offering you one of the most stressful, tactical and overall entertaining experiences on the PSP at the moment.
-
The sights and sounds of Every Extend Extra are quite attractive and varied, and half the fun is seeing how drastically the game's look changes from level to level. The actual gameplay is novel for a while, but it lacks the depth to keep you playing.
-
Much like the new Star Wars trilogy, there's more than enough to appreciate in the sight and sound department, but delve below the surface, and it just isn't quite as enjoyable as it should be.
-
Electronic Gaming MonthlyMy idea of fun does not involve a tedious repetition of something that makes no sense. [Dec. 2006, p.156]
-
Every Extend is as addictive as the best puzzlers, so it's painful to see its pumped-up remake bogged down by over-the-top special effects.
-
It's a thinking man's game that requires a high chain count and wily thinking in order to assure survival. Some leniency for more amateur players probably should have been granted, but that's probably something that will be saved for "EEE II."
-
Triple E will mostly like appeal to gamers who like their games a little on the frantic side. I enjoyed Every Extend Extra in short bursts, but in the long run this wouldn't make it into the PSP rotation.
-
A strange beast. While the visuals and sounds are immaculate, I quickly found that after a few hours of playing -- including messing around in all the different modes -- I was a little bored. There was simply too much repetition involved.
-
This game is quirky and cool, but just isn't substantial enough to make an explosive impact. For the best of both worlds, buy Lumines II and play the included Every Extend Extra demo.
-
A psychedelic puzzle-shooter with serious old-school appeal. It'll be lapped up by the cool crowd but it's a little too basic for its own good.
-
Ultimately, you can’t help but feel that there’s a fantastic game in Every Extend Extra just begging to be set free, but this current incarnation just wasn’t cooked enough to be worth eating.

Apr 22, 2012I can't believe the media gave more score to the Xbox version than to this one wich is absolutely better. They obviously didn't played both games...
