If you own a Nintendo DS, you might want to buy the DS version instead for the touch screen controls.
-
The game's fun and frantic, but it doesn't really offer much than its face-value production.
-
Diner Dash is a pretty addictive game and stands as one of those easy to pick and play games for fun. If you want a simple to play game that only requires reflexes and little thinking Diner Dash: Sizzle & Serve may just be for you.
-
Diner Dash is a challenging game that will keep you on your toes from start to finish, but it's too simple to keep you coming back.
-
PSM MagazineWhile fun in concept (and on the PC), this game suffers from really awkward controls that don't respond nearly fast enough to keep pace with the customers. [July 2007, p.85]
-
Another case of too much for too little. The extremely simple gameplay and unimpressive graphics just don’t justify a $30 price tag, and arguably wouldn’t even justify even a $20 or $15 price tag.
-
It's just addicting enough for you to stick it out for the entirety of the game, but unless you're in the mood for a stress headache you probably won't bust it out again.
-
An iffy buy for Diner Dash fans and not recommended for anyone unfamiliar with the franchise.
-
Pure Magazine UKIf it was part of a larger collection of games we couldn't fault it. But it does seem a little much to ask when it is a stand-alone title, no matter how much fun it is. [May 2007, p.84]
-
Official Playstation 2 Magazine UKA simply concept that makes for a fiendishly tricky and addictive game. Sadly let down slightly by some clumsy controls. [May 2007, p.89]
-
Play UKThe price is too high for what you get, especially if you factor in the free version available online. [Issue#153, p.75]
-
Playstation Official Magazine UKIt's as exciting as waiting on people in real life; which is to say, not very. [May 2007, p.114]
-
Most levels in Diner Dash: Sizzle and Serve last five minutes tops, which makes it a flexible on-the-go offering. We’re increasingly annoyed by publishers’ tendencies to toss a casual PC game onto portable consoles for a notably higher price than its PC version.
-
Even though the difficulty ramps up dramatically halfway through Career mode, dedicated gamers will be able to complete the whole thing in a day, if they don't get tired of fighting the poorly designed controls before then.
