The goodies are difficult to recognize and the graphics are not even average, but at least the physics are calculated correctly. Fans of Breakout will maybe have some hours of fun with this game.
-
With 100 levels, and some cunning design that tests your brain as much as your reflexes, the only persistent issue with Breakquest is the initially annoyance of the sluggish stick control. Get past that, and you've got a solid pick-up-and-play game.
-
If it weren't for the troublesome controls we'd be recommending this without hesitation, especially at its low price point; as it stands it's still worth a look, just be prepared for some initial frustration.
-
The presentation’s nice and there’s certainly a lot of ‘game’ for your money.
-
BreakQuest impresses with creative level design and novel physics-based play but sadly suffers from fundamental control issues.
-
Playstation Official Magazine UKA crummy-looking Magic Ball, but it's not without its charms. [Dec 2009, p.18]
-
This is a poor PC port that is in no noticeable way optimized for the PSP.
-
PSM3 Magazine UKShoddy. [Christmas 2009, p.95]
-
Play UKHorrific controls. [Issue#186, p.87]
-
BreakQuest isn’t a bad game, but it never comes together. The speed problems and the lack of any kind of “wow” just make it something you don’t need to play.
