AceGamezIt isn't the uber killer-app the PSP still so desperately needs to showcase what it is truly capable of as the powerhouse portable gaming device it is supposed to be, but regardless of that fact, there can be no denying that Bomberman is among the platform's most entertaining, long-lasting and downright addictive titles yet.
-
The wealth of content available here, regardless of whether you're playing Single Mode or Battle Mode, makes it essential old-school playing for those who can appreciate it.

Play UKBomberman fits nicely in your palm and is an easy recommendation for anyone with friends. [Issue #150, p.90]

Pelit (Finland)There is not anything new in the latest incarnation of Bomberman, but it does not really matter much. The multiplayer mode has plenty of variety, and we do need the grandfather also on PSP to entertain us and to keep our reflexes sharp. [Mar 2007]

With all the good going for Bomberman for PSP, it's tough to not recommend it to everyone, but that $40 price tag seems a tad excessive. After all, you've basically got what could be a $10 download game on the Web combined with an emulated version of a 10+ year old arcade title with a little WiFi (local play only, no Internet) on top.
-
It's just as much fun now as it was ten or twenty years ago, and that's enough for us to crown it one of the most worthwhile multiplayer PSP games around. If you have friends, and at least some of them have PSPs, you need this game. It's that simple.
-
As a bonus for true Bomber-fans, by playing through the new version, you'll unlock the original version of the game. So it's two cool games for the price of one.
-
A nice bounce-back for the brand and a return to simpler, more fun times. It's a great game with multiplayer, and the single player mode can be entertaining if you don't mind the lack of true competition.
-
Bomberman is a great rendition of the classic franchise. It’s a rare, truly portable game on the PSP. It’s fun in short bursts, but thanks to the 150 stages, you’ll be playing for hours.
-
While this version doesn’t take on drastic changes, the item stock is sufficient enough for players that want to buy a portable Bomberman that sticks to its roots and adds explosive wireless battles.
-
It's quick to pick up and easy to put down which is everything a portable game should be.
-
This game brings Bomberman to the PSP with plenty of enjoyable, challenging single-player levels, as well as the fun and frantic multiplayer battles the series is known for.
-
While the great multiplayer battles falls a bit flat thanks to a poor framerate, the single-player mode will have you deeply engrossed in its more than 100 addictive levels.
-
Multiplayer is pretty solid, though the controls are a little slower than in the single-player mode. Still the multiplayer mode is a nice addition to the solid single-player game.
