Despite some pacing and loading issues, this is a game with a good, solid and inventive soul that offers a unique and enjoyable take on rhythm gaming for the persevering gamer.

Official Playstation 2 Magazine UKAn innovative and challenging take on an old formula. [Nov 2006, p.100]

AceGamezDespite B-Boy's weaker points, there's nothing here that can take away from the main feature, which is the dancing itself. This has been recreated beautifully.
-
B-Boy has a lot going for it, but it's not for everyone. The gameplay is limited and there are some technical flaws here and there, including the control system, which is more awkward to use than the PS2 version, since there's a tendency to move the screen around too much.
-
B-Boy has limited itself, partly by playing on Sony hardware and partly by gameplay that's not inclusive enough; it's so stylish it's for poseurs not players. Not into hip hop culture? No reason to pick this up, no matter how pretty and slick the dancing is.
-
games(TM)It’s a fun, frothy take on a scene that could have easily led it to drown in detestable ghetto references and urban nods, but even though B-Boy manages to avoid travelling that dangerous path, it remains no more than a guilty pleasure. [Oct 2006, p.121]
