Backstage Assault is a thumb-tiring, momentum-building excursion, sporting the thrills and skills of WCW action. And because it is a no-holds-barred battle fest, you can use whatever weapons are on hand.
-
Great fun for a while, but gets repetitive pretty quickly.
-
A novel idea, but in the end, it doesn't have enough variation to make it worthwhile. This one is only for the hard-core WCW fan.
-
Total Video GamesThe wrestlers contain so few polygons, they look like an Origami project gone bad. This might be excusable if this lack of detail made up for fast-paced and smooth action, but sadly this isn't the case either.
-
CNET GamecenterThis game stinks worse than the Nature Boy's jock strap.
-
Looks unforgivably awful, recycles the middling control system from WCW Mayhem, and builds itself around a gimmick that defeats the purpose of a wrestling game. It's not good, children. Not good at all.
-
In attempting to make its mark by trying to be something a bit different, WCW Backstage Assault has instead ended up being the lamest thing since Long John Silver.
