The menus are horrendous, and the graphics are appalling. Come on, when you see a series of games, you expect them to improve, in graphics, sound, gameplay, and level design. In TMSB they're all worse.
  2. Small Brawl could function as a gateway for younger kids interested in the series, but are not quite ready to tackle the difficulty of "Twisted Metal: Black."
  3. Small Brawl would be a perfectly recommendable weekend rental for Twisted Metal fans if it weren't for its questionable and unfaithful gameplay.

A slapdash, sloppy and unimaginative retrofit. [Jan 2002, p.232]
  5. The graphics, described in one word, would have to be muddy. The framerate seems to be unnecessarily depleted from previous versions.

This game doesn't even live up to the first four PSX titles in the series. It's that bad. I just feel dirty playing it, and Sony should feel worse for publishing it. [Jan 2002, p.88]

Honestly this game isn’t that bad at all, it is indeed aimed at a younger crowd, and that is obvious from the story revolving around pre-teensHonestly this game isn’t that bad at all, it is indeed aimed at a younger crowd, and that is obvious from the story revolving around pre-teens and or teenagers. A lot of people are bashing the game for its graphics, but honestly, most Ps1 games these days look like Dog **** when I had this game when the Ps1 was still the Hot Console during my childhood, this game looked fine for Ps1 standards. The physics in the game take a little time to get use to, but I thing it captures decently what it feels like to control a RC car, if you have every played with one before you will know exactly what I’m talking about; unresponsive, clunky but still lots of fun!

I remember spending hours playing with my younger siblings playing this game. It’s charming being in places kids hang out only to turn it into a death trap battle zone! Using homemade and some fantasy like weapons take out your opponents, replaying it again, I can confirm this game is lots of fun and if you are interested, check it out for yourself, don’t be turned away by people who are judging a game based on its graphics alone! This game was a childhood favorite of mine and still holds up a bit today, and if you have nostalgia for this game, it will be even better!
