    The has to be one of the best JRPGs of All.
    Pros:
    -Great cast of characters
    -Great World Building
    -Great Nemesis and rivals
    -Great Plot Twists
    -Perfect Waifu
    -Ambitious game for the time with best graphics for the time with cut scenes.
    -Addition system needs some kind of skill to play the game
    Cons:

    Me pasé el juego el año pasado.

    Es una gran historia con unas mecánicas sencillas, eso sí, tiene un gran inconveniente.
    Hay un jefe final que para que no te mate tienes que ganar mucho dinero y comprar ciertos objetos que cuestan 10k cada uno y precisamente necesitas mínimo 4 de esos equipos porque si no, ése bicho te matará fácilmente.

    Buena banda sonora, gráficos buenos para la época (yo lo disfruté muchísimo en 2022).
    Historia genial con postcréditos preciosos.
    Tiene trucos lo cual ayuda muchísimo a no enfermar por el grindeo de oro.

    Not a perfect game. But effing close. Just, must play, get it if you have a playstation of any kind (though preferably not the PS1 version because that'd be expensive.) So, either the PSOne Classics for the PS3/Vita systems and PS4/PS5 if you own one of those. Old school, high fantasy, turn-based on speed (which is static only alterable with equipment).

    What a game, my friends! The game simply delivers everything you need to have fun. The battle system is interesting, the game's soundtrack is fabulous, the plot runs well on the 04 discs and the main thing is, it's done around the characters, so here you certainly won't see characters that join the group but that's with if it wasn't there, like several we can see in Chrono Cross or Gau inWhat a game, my friends!     To me, this was a better version of FF7, and it has also aged very well because it has gameplay mechanics that even newer triple A games don't have. However, it is older and it would be awesome to get a remake. There was enough story in this game, to justify a prequel, and sequel.

    Get ready for some tears.

    Uno de los mejores JRPG que he jugado, aun hoy en día aguanta bastante bien. El sistema de combate, novedoso para la época, buena banda sonora, una historia interesante y personajes carismáticos.
    ¿Es perfecto? No, tiene errores como la traducción, el inventario, lo poco desarrollado que esta el tema de los dragoons, y que tal vez la historia no puede ser una locura narrativa, pero en    Uno de los mejores JRPG que he jugado, aun hoy en día aguanta bastante bien.     Este juego es simplemente el mejor RPG de la PSX, o sea fue el mejor JRPG de su tiempo, yo lo he jugado mas de 7 veces y todavía no me cansa y estamos en el año 2020!! y sigue sin cansarme!!     Su historia es tan jodidamente atrapante al igual que su soundtrack en los momentos que avanza la historia. Tiene uno de los villanos mas completos de cualquier JRPG, Lloyd que personaje mas grande dios mío, además tiene muchos momentos muy emotivos, momentos geniales donde se ve la alta diferencia de los poderosos guerreros Dragoons con el resto del mundo y razas.

    Los gráficos son tremendos para su época, los ataques de los dragoons eran unas secuencias espectaculares visualmente, las cuales dejaban ver todo el poder que tenían, era realmente un espectáculo visual verlos en acción.

    Hay críticos que dicen que es lineal... es en serio? creo que solo jugaron la primera media hora y no salieron ni del 5% del primer CD jajajaja, y eran 4 CD's!! este juego tiene varios jefes escondidos, para los que no se enteren todavía.

    La historia es deslumbrante, nunca jugué nada igual, y para no parecer un ciego amante del juego que solo le hecha flores, diré que lo único que se me hace pesado es la música en los combates con monstruos casuales, eso suele agotar, pero esto es un problema que cualquier RPG lo puede tener, pero lo vale, lo demás es todo un espectáculo en todos los sentidos. 10/10

    Una verdadera reliquia invaluable de la primera generación de Play Station, jodidamente infravalorada y opacada por la franquicia de Final Fantasy, la cual ya tenía una sólida reputación por aquel entonces.

    Still my favorite game after all this years. Great games come year after year but none ever reach LoD.
    I replay it often and still can't get enough of it, it's majestic. One of the most underrated games in history. A true gem of the PlayStation unmatched catalog. If you want to give it a try do it with a open mind and you will know why this games is so loved by it's fans.

    This particular games stands as my favorite game of all time. As a youngster I was completely enamored with the story, quests, and game play. Really wish they would remake it..

    this game is gold. certainly needed some improvements in some aspects, like voice acting or respond time in commands, like when you hit attack and starts the attack seconds later. by far one of the most creative story ever told.disck one is slow and may sent confusing messages. but if you reach disck 3 you will be mind ****
    dont loose the opportunity to play this.

    One of the best jrpgs games of all history. I played this game in 2000 and I replay several times later. Good graphics in a PSX, a cool history and the best of the game, the combay system. This gem need a remaster.

    I started this journey when I was around 12 and 13, fighting tooth and nail to beat this game towards the end because at that age I did not have a good grasp on the RPG combat style.
    15 years later I payed 53 bucks for a black label edition on ebay because the story stuck with me so hard and so heavy.
    Words can not really describe the level of magic, fantasy, or the difficulty of    I started this journey when I was around 12 and 13, fighting tooth and nail to beat this game towards the end because at that age I did not have a good grasp on the RPG combat style.

    Im glad to be able to experience this game on RetroArch these days, truly a classic in the genre, a classic I feel puts fear in developers now days at the thought of a remake, shivering in their slacks, knowing deep down what they have become, all graphics and no story.
    The game keeps you on edge with well spaced events, in a way I feel the graphics themselves tie the game together, If I remember correctly from reading years ago the game took 10 years to develope and most of the world was hand drawn backgrounds.
    Some triple A titles these days wont even make me pay 53 bucks for them, so you know this game hit all the right spots ,then, and even more important, even as an adult it still hits those spots, that is a raritey. I went through the first disk on my recent playthrough without having to restart any fight due to full party death.
    I want to end with this, if you never played this as a kid...had that carry over nostalgia, then you will probably play this in a very critique manner, missing the fact it is PS1, missing all the companionship and indavidual stories, forgetting to admire the level of in world detail for its respective age..    … Expand

    I love this game. I have beat it four times, and after years of being away, I have started playing it again. The battle system is so addicting, and exciting when you get it down. I love the music. As soon as I hear the in game menu music, it takes me back and is soothing. The story is good and has a few nice twists. There are side quests you can do if you feel like.     This game still holds up. I still go back to reply this game constantly. This was one of the greatest RPG games of the time. RPG now a days could learn a lot from this game.
    With all the games being remastered and remade, this one deserves a remake (as long as they do it justice.)

    One of my first RPG experiences ever, and it still holds strong as a great entry to the genre. The story is captivating, the combat keeps turn based combat engaging, and the characters are mostly interesting. I remember first playing this on a PS1 demo disk, and then as soon as I was done, had to play the remainder of the game. My one gripe is that spell animations are waaaaayyyy too long,One of my first RPG experiences ever, and it still holds strong as a great entry to the genre. The story is captivating, the combat keeps turn based combat engaging, and the characters are mostly interesting. I remember first playing this on a PS1 demo disk, and then as soon as I was done, had to play the remainder of the game. My one gripe is that spell animations are waaaaayyyy too long, and waiting one minute to watch the same animation to get to the next turn can be grating at times. Other than that, it's an RPG classic for the PS1, and still is fun to this day.… Expand

    When all is said and done, The LoD is like your typical one-night stand: it's OK for a quick fix but it's nothing that will get you emotionally involved.
