It's classic side-scrolling action like it was originally designed to be played. The two selectable characters and brain-spraining puzzles mean you'll get more than your money's worth in replay value.

This is 2D action gaming at its best and I'll take this over almost any 3D adventure game or platformer any day of the week.
  3. Solid and consistent. If you loved 4 then you're almost certain to love 5. On the other hand if you've always hated Megaman then move on as this is truly more of the same.
  4. A fun game. It's classic Mega Man, a formulaic game that sticks to the same ground rules, but still works. And getting back into the familiar 2D groove just felt really good, especially with the gameplay refinements.
  5. Fans of the classic 2D games will no doubt find much to love in X5, while those who can't get into the aging conventions and mechanics probably won't care a great deal for it.
  6. It's a bit of a step backwards, taking the more exploratory 3D incarnations into consideration. Still, if you're looking for some chaotic old-school 2D side-scrolling mayhem, it's worth checking out.

Nothing more than a fun, nostalgic 2D platforming romp that will only appeal to true hard-core fans.

Although X4 is great, X5 is much better. I remember when this first came out, and I was all over it. Beat it 100% in a week.

I don't understand it. Ignoring that, it is necessary to clarify that the viruses that are on the maps went too far in defeating us and it is difficult to overcome them, but their story is good, including Zero's death.
