Graphically, "Mat Hoffman's Pro BMX" is about the best that you're going to see in a Playstation title.
-
Surprisingly fun.
-
Thanks to fresh physics challenges, ample combo lines, and trick-filled locales, Mat Hoffmans Pro BMX is the game to get.
-
Da GameboyzIt plays well, and above all it is fun.
-
If you loved Tony Hawk, you will definitely love Mat Hofman's Pro BMX. While it doesn't have the more extensive options and deeper mechanics of "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2," it has plenty of its own personality and depth.
-
Players can create their own custom BMX tracks with the bundled 3-D course editor, offering more than 100 variations of ramps, rails and other obstacles.
-
But the one thing that cant be overlooked is that the game is over way too soon...(but) lives up to the engine its built on its a great companion to "THPS2."
-
Despite a trick roster with some troubling names (anyone care to attempt a Rocket Queen?), this is as down and dirty as they come. Detergent not included.
-
Official U.S. Playstation MagazineThe environments are vast and nicely drawn, though the pop-up is a bit frustrating at times. [June 2001, p.103]
-
Smooth gameplay, great sound, and sharp graphics make this game a definite keeper.
-
If you like rock music to accompany your efforts, this has some of the best with even the Stone Roses lending their tracks.
-
I'd be ready to write off "Dave Mirra" completely after playing this, if it weren't for the fact I like Acclaim's lineup of riders so much.
-
Between the game sound and the game's eclectic soundtrack, Mat Hoffman's Pro BMX is totally amazing...The soundtrack rivals "Wipeout XL" for the title of best licensed soundtrack ever.
-
It's still a very good game once you learn to live with its shortcomings, and I wouldn't suggest that any THPS addict shy away from buying it, but don't expect THPS on two wheels.
-
But frankly, this type of fun we've all seen for the PSX twice already, and there's not really enough here to warrant dropping the dough and adding it to the collection - so rent before you buy.

JasonL.Sep 16, 2002This game has pretty good graphics for the PSone, but fails to deliver more than high-score/ sparatic game play.
