  1. A nice new fighting type game that is unique and entertaining.
  2. Poor and rich people alike have no excuse to look elsewhere for a sensible purchase.

Deep down I hope that this game sells well, not because it's amazing, but because for ten dollars, you're not going to find a better new game.

The addition of passable graphics, surprisingly good production values and quirky, fun gameplay make picking up this $9.99 title a pretty easy decision.
  5. The fast-paced action and variety of arenas make it perfect for killing some time even if it doesn't deliver the most rewarding gaming experience.
  6. A fun little action title that's inexpensive (making it an easy impulsive purchase), and incredibly addictive at the same time, which are two qualities that do not go hand-in-hand very often.
  7. The second half's ridiculous difficulty hampers its full potential and causes it to lose significant points... [but] if the idea of a bloodthirsty, darkly violent version of "Marble Madness" sounds like your idea of a good time, check it out.

Enough playability, weirdness, gameplay variety, and levels to make it worth a look if you want something that won't break your bank.
  9. If you think of it as "Road Rash" up close and personal (and want to see a game like that), then go ahead and break these balls.
  10. If you look past a painfully weak back story and the painfully simple graphics, you'll find there is an enjoyable game to be played in Ball Breakers.

Players select from five convict androids, each with slightly different abilities, and compete in a series of challenges in order to eventually earn their freedom.

With the characters rolling around on magnetic balls the controls were a little awkward even at the time, but the excellent variety of challenges (races, gauntlets, king of the hill etc) and interesting concept ensured it was always really good fun.
