Console racing fans may find this a little lacking, but for those who enjoy doing more than just circling a track, this has just the right flavor.
-
Offers mild fun that will appeal for sure only to gamers who love both Bond and action-driving games.
-
Generic and by-the-numbers, 007 Racing shoehorns one of the world's best-known licenses into a dated car combat engine that wouldn't be taken seriously without it.
-
For driving fans used to the rigors of Gran Turismo and Ridge Racer, 007 rates about a 003 on the fun factor scale.
-
The fact of the matter is that the gameplay in this ramshackle title pales in comparison to these top-selling greats, as does its unpredictable design, boring multiplayer modes (deathmatch, pass the bomb, etc.) and outdated engine.
-
Overall, 007 Racing isn't polished enough to fill the needs of objective-based driving game fans. Fans of these types of games would be better served by "Driver 2."
-
A good idea, but the gameplay, graphics, and controls make this game come up short.
-
CheckOutOne of the most novel gaming premises to come along in quite some time, (but) its poor gameplay mechanics and woeful graphics ultimately relegate it to that ignominious coulda-been, shoulda-been pile of underachieving PlayStation action titles.
-
007 Racing ain't the Sean Connery of Bond games, it's the Timothy Dalton version.
-
Daily RadarFailing to pull through with what could have been a very interesting premise, however, EA has given us the keys to Bond's wheels but included with them jagged visuals, uninteresting level designs and some of the least polish we've seen in a while, making this game something of a clunker.
-
Game FanIt's as if every major flaw of the aging PlayStation platform was meant to be exposed with this game -- from the over pixilated textures to the terrible draw-in distance... this game is just plain fugly.
-
Some gamers can look past gritty textures and stickmen for the decent gameplay and variety, but the poor control that plagues 007 Racing is hard to resolve.
-
Spank! One wag referred to this game as the Timothy Dalton, rather than the Sean Connery, of Bond games. Balderdash. This is the George Lazenby - no, wait, the Woody Allen, in that crappy Casino Royale 007 spoof, of Bond games. Licensed to kill? On this evidence, James shouldn't even be licensed to drive.
-
The ugly graphics make this feel more "On Her Majestys Secret Service" than "Goldfinger."
-
Da GameboyzWith terrible graphics, unimpressive sound, and mediocre gameplay, this game really doesn't have anything to offer. Of course, the game is capable of providing some fun, you just have to use the CD as a frisbee to experience it.
-
One of the worst driving titles ever to have graced a videogame platform.
