Like the films it seems to draw inspiration from, it takes on an artistic sheen — and like both of those movies, it's a look the game wears very, very well.

A brilliant, yet eerie, puzzle-platformer The Swapper is a game that will get you thinking. Simple in its premise yet deadly in its execution.

The Swapper manages to be both a perfect example of ‘genre fiction’ (it’s a sci-fi experience up there with Moon, Solaris or Alien), it also manages to make itself an exemplar of a ‘genre game’ – a puzzler so fresh in its ideas, yet so widely familiar, that no matter how you like your brain to get picked at, The Swapper will satisfy you.

I haven’t been able to stop thinking about the puzzles and story since I completed The Swapper. For a game so cryptic, I’m surprised at how much it impacted me. The ending in particular will stay with you for a long time.

A mesmerising, creepy, unique, and frustrating puzzle platformer.

The puzzles are challenging without becoming too difficult, and the mechanics are surprising. Sometimes they make your brain hurt, but in a nice way :) I love it ! Full Review »

These orbs are contained within their own separate rooms, each of which requires the player to solve a puzzle. As the game progresses additional elements, such as blue lights that prevent the player creating clones in certain places, are introduced to make things more difficult. The puzzles are all excellently designed and provide a decent challenge without ever really becoming all that frustrating (In fact there were just 3 puzzles towards the end of the game in which I had to look up the solution).

Despite being 2d the graphics are also superbly atmospheric, really adding to the games overall bleak tone, and making for an excellent overall package that is a steal at its £10 price tag.
