Playstation Official Magazine AustraliaOct 7, 2013Combining the depth and difficulty of a rogue-like with the thrill of a platformer, it's an elegant and endlessly replayable gem of a game that is perfectly suited to a portable format. Co-op multiplayer over WAN (no netplay – boo!) is especially rewarding.[November 2013, p83]

Sep 16, 2013The PS Vita execution is as wonderful a game as it has always been - despite some ramerate issues when certain events are triggered or areas entered - but is more at home given the way it plays and the fact it nags at you every moment you’re not playing it - which is reduced if you can take it with you wherever you go.
-
Sep 3, 2013The portability and the improved cooperative mode make the Vita version of Spelunky absolutely perfect.
-
Sep 2, 2013Spelunky is a game that you need to own right this second, especially if you've never played it before. Just prepare to lose a large portion of your life to those depths.
-
Sep 2, 2013There is no question: this is the version of Spelunky that you should purchase. Even though the game was released on Xbox 360 over a year ago, the cross save and cross buy interaction between PS3 and Vita – along with the Vita’s ability to deliver instantaneous spelunking – make this the ultimate port of a superb game.
-
Aug 30, 2013The meat of Spelunky comes from its endlessly varied, endlessly difficult single-play mode, and that feels more at home on Vita than on any other platform the game has graced to date.
-
Aug 29, 2013The Vita version of Spelunky turned out brilliantly and is probably the best port of the game you could pick up, especially if you plan on taking the game out on the road with friends.
-
Aug 28, 2013Major improvements to the cooperative mode coupled with the Vita's portability make this the best version of the already excellent Spelunky.
-
Games Master UKOct 19, 2013Despite its difficulty curve Spelunky's beautifully simplistic mechanics will keep you playing for hours. [Dec 2013, p.67]
-
Sep 6, 2013Spelunky is a great title. Its astonishing gameplay, the beautiful graphic, the magnificent level design, make it an unmissable videogame. The only drawback is its intrinsic difficulty: not everyone might appreciate a game where you die often.
-
Oct 17, 2013Easy as hell to learn and a hell to master Spelunky is a true gem. One of the best Roguelikes actually on Playstation Vita.
-
Sep 19, 2013Spelunky is back on Vita and PS3 with a solid conversion and some new features. Local co-op on a separate screen on Vita is a nice addition but the lack of the daily challenge feature may be a weak point for someone. Recommended if you’re an old-school gamer.
-
Sep 16, 2013Spelunky is the perfect example of how to glorify the current popularity of indie games on consoles.
-
Sep 3, 2013If you’re fortunate enough to dig your way past the rock-solid opening hours, a never-ending supply of treasure eagerly awaits your discovery.
