    Addictive but not quite original, that sums up Sparkle 2 quite nicely. A nice game to play in-between the big releases.

    Sparkle 2 is a simple yet effective time waster that offers plenty of hours of fun before it inevitably starts to feel a bit repetitious.

    Sparkle 2 has some fun moments in the form of color matching addiction, but little else makes the title worth playing.

    The story aspect feels a little bit forced and awkward and level selection is limited, but if you are absolutely dying for a match three game on your Vita and/or PS4, Sparkle 2 is an ok experience that feels just like the match three titles of yesteryear that gave me some fun for a few hours, and yet is not enough to draw me back in to my old habits.

    Match 3 puzzle games have always been my favorite, match games period. From Tetris (back in the GameBoy days),to Bejeweled, Treasures ofMatch 3 puzzle games have always been my favorite, match games period. From Tetris (back in the GameBoy days),to Bejeweled, Treasures of Motezuma (aka "TOM Blitz"), right to the modern day with "Sparkle 2" from 10Tons Ltd. Based in Finland, creators of another classic, Crimsonland,
    "Sparkle 2" is a pleasant award winning, bubble shooting, match 3 puzzler which approaches the genre from an angle which has only recently begun to be explored in that it's a match-3 game with a storyline. Based in a magical land, you are presented with a map where your task is to solve stages and work your way to discover ancient landmarks containing 5 magical keys, which once combined unlock a huge portal at the end of the map.

    As you progress through the game, you unlock helpful powerups which assist you in your quest. These charms can vary from orb freezers, color changers, or slow down. ("Fire" was my personal favorite!). In addition to the main story campaign there are two more modes: survival and challenge.
    Having mostly touch controls dosent leave much to be learned which is a good thing, one can just drive right in, but alternatively,you can use the left stick to aim,and X to shoot. Otherwise, just simply point to the spot on the map you would like to shoot orbs.
    Graphics are rock solid, solid as the marbles. It almost looks like a very abstract-artsy kind of dream. The elemental effects from the power ups are all very satisfying when activated.
    The music is pleasant but not too distracting. Voice acting for the story narration is top notch. But once you become addicted, the cutscenes pretty much becomes skippable (i liked sticking around to hear about the area descriptions & key collecting however)

    Good: nonstop "match 3" action, great storytelling, awesome special effects
    Bad: feels repetitive,(which eventually every puzzler suffers from.)
    Overall: "Sparkle 2" is another great game from a developer that has turned out nothing but homeruns so far, so in all likelihood they won't steer you wrong.    … Expand
