While Bon Appetit! may not be up there with the likes of Project Diva and DJ Max, it carves its own little niche into my playlist with a unique blend of fanservice, originality, customization and rhythm.

I feel kind of icky even suggesting it's not terrible, and I'd be completely mortified to play it in public…but deep down, beneath the stupid, juvenile exterior, there's secretly a game that's kind of worth checking out. But don't tell anyone I said that.

Animated breasts are cool for a while, but after a couple hours the gameplay became monotonous and the sounds started to annoy me. [01/2015, p.81]

The cooking battles across both Story and Arcade modes are a lot of fun, though the repetition can leave a sour taste after awhile. However, the simplistic gameplay and portable nature of the game allows players to pick this fast food up in the future to avoid any form of boredom in one sitting.

At first glance the beat ‘em up turned cooking sim turned rhythm game appears to suffer from an identity crisis, but Senran Kagura Bon Appétit! is a light-hearted comedy above all else. It’s as niche as games come thanks to its flaunting of risqué material subject to all manner of misunderstandings, but Bon Appétit! is effective as a silly pastime.

With a multitude of character customization options and out of control boob physics, Bon Appetit has everything one could expect from a Senran Kagura title. If the gameplay were given the same attention and creativity as the girls, it could have been amazing.

This is a surprisingly meaty title that'll have you coming back again and again to best one difficulty level after another, even if it's just to collect special accessories with which you can outfit your girls.

For rhythm fans and those who enjoy the Senran Kagura series thus far, Bon Appetit is worth checking out.

It’s serviceable. Both in that it’s fan service, and that it’s a game that can only be described as workable.

Playing a Senran Kagura game is like going to watch a Michael Bay movie or read a Playboy issue: We know exactly what we are going to see. But under all that ecchi fan-service of bouncing Double Ds schoolgirls and whippe cream using as an style of underwear, there's a musical rhythm game that can be entertaining if we don't ask for much, but that lasts for not-too-long due to its brief content.

Diehard fans of the series will get a kick out of this, but most others (including music game fans) can feel confident in skipping it over. There are both better rhythm games as well as better Senran Kagura titles available on Vita.

Senran Kagura: Bon Appétit! is a game purely designed for its fans. If anyone was foolish enough to think that this spin-off may introduce any gameplay elements to draw in newcomers, think again.

It's not much of a rhythm game (or much of a game in general) but when taken as pure fanservice, it's pretty much everything anyone could ask for without doing an unfiltered Google search.

It's unfortunate the Senran Kagura: Bon Appetit! is a game with decent mechanics and visuals, but it's terribly short on content and within a few hours you'll have seen everything this game has to offer.

Whether you are a diehard fan of the rhythm games genre or the Senran Kagura series, there’s really no good justification for anyone to pick this up.

This game’s biggest problem is that its culinary combat simply isn’t interesting enough to hold your attention, and with bland battles, there’s not a lot here to get excited about.

If you're looking for a high-quality game with a great amount of depth, this game is not for you.

What this game is, is a very challenging spin-off rhythm game of the great Senran Kagura series, with a high dosage of fan service.

The rhythm part of the game is very, very difficult, but is also highly enjoyable.

This is a game that you will want to play on Easy first before moving to normal, as the end song on Arcade mode on Normal is ridiculously difficult.

If you want a challenging rhythm game with a ton of fanservice and a good amount of character customization, you should definitely pick up this title.

There's even a plot, represented by short cutscenes, which was rather unexpected. This is a solid rhythm game- mash some buttons the right way, see girls getting undresseed, cook a huge plate of tasty food, get appreciations from the sensei. The game is in perfect technical condition, has no bugs, and features almost instant loading times- something you can't just take for granted on a Vita. Full Review »
