    Sayonara Umihara Kawase+’s mental gymnastics are every bit as sadistically soul crushing as they are cunningly compelling and this two-spirited nature poses a serious entry barrier.

    Minor gripes aside, Sayonara Umihara Kawase + is a refreshingly retro platformer at a budget price that even includes the SNES original as a bonus, no doubt further acknowledging the newfound recognition for the series from its Game Center CX appearance.

    Sayonara UmiharaKawase+ is a fun but ultimately divisive game. The level of difficulty is certainly up there, and it escalates quickly, so you'll hit roadblocks very early

    An interesting platform game that offers high difficulty and varied challenges with the basic mechanics that made the series unforgettable. It even has some problems with its presentation, the inclusion of the original Super Famicom game and some extras increases its value.

    It doesn't offer anything particularly relevant if you've already played it on 3DS, but its classic concept delivers an interesting game that might surprise some players and that works quite well on PS Vita.

    While Sayonara is hurt by questionable graphical changes and iffy animations, the final product is true to the source material and worth playing for anyone who enjoys this particular series.
