For what it is, however, it's a pretty solid game, and for anyone wanting a genuinely strong Warriors/musou game on the go, Samurai Warriors 4 is definitely it.

Samurai Warriors 4 is probably the most fleshed-out realization of a portable Musou game yet.

Boasting two fantastic modes and more shogun slashing carnage than you can shake a shamisen at, it's the pick of the bunch when it comes to your portable Warriors fix.

Missions, new types of attacks and Chronicle mode (that promises almost infinite replayability) changed familiar Warriors’ formula for the better. Even veterans of the series will not get that unpleasant sense of deja vu after playing SW4. [Dec 2014, p.86]

Samurai Warriors 4 Vita is a solid port.
There are technically no lag on my experience. The content is so full and worthy for 40$, much larger than Dynasty Warrior Next in the past.

The graphic is about the same as Toukiden on PSVita, which is highly detailed, both character models and the map terrains. There are more enemies on screen than Dynasty Warriors Next too, which make the battle busier.

Ad-hoc coop and online coop are also available for Story Mode, Free Mode, and Chronicles Mode, making playing together is a plus. Story Modes consists of many Legends which told in about 5 or 6 chapters each, while in Free Mode you can do all of them.

Chronicles Mode is to use your made-up character (Character Creation here is also nice with so many things can be picked and even bought from Shop) and having your own legends throughout Warring State of Japan.

So, in short, this game is great, a far better Warriors than Dynasty Warrior Next released in the past. I haven't played Dynasty Warriors 8 XL and Warriors Orochi Ultimate, so I cannot compare to them.
