Nov 28, 2016It's one heck of a compelling story, which means that all of them do their job. In fact, everything about Root Letter seems to do its job of making it a good, worthwhile game…which, in turn, is why it's most definitely worth a look.

Dec 6, 2016ROOT Letter is an excellent visual novel with a solid story, a realistic universe and surprising gameplay mechanics. A must have if you are a visual novel fan, and even if you're not.
-
Dec 2, 2016In the end, Root Letter isn't quite the complete package, let down by some issues with storytelling and character development. In spite of this, it's an enjoyable journey with some gorgeous presentation and something I'd easily recommend for fans of visual novels.

Dec 19, 2016A fantastic and mysterious thriller-lite. Though the protagonist has non-existent motives and the ‘choice’ isn’t really choice at all, the supporting cast and story arc make this difficult to put down.
-
Nov 15, 2016The beautiful presentation cannot hide some of the game’s irksome issues with its occasional wooden delivery and trip-ups within its script. Root Letter isn’t a visual novel that matches up with some of the quality imports that have come from Japan, but if you have exhausted all of those options, then Root Letter makes for an enjoyable alternative to spend a weekend with its intriguing story of friendship and love.
-
Nov 15, 2016Root Letter’s intriguing premise was just enough to keep me playing, despite the lacking tension that was initially promised.
